Job Description Summary Responsible for managing offshore cloud engineering team for designing and architecting scalable and secure cloud services and solutions, building automation and providing support for multiple production environments. She/he will work independently and contribute to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts 1st line manager for offshore Cloud infrastructure and engineering team. Managing a team of 8 to 10 engineers with either planning and execution and/or design architecture using agile methodologies such as SCRUM Engage in technical discussions participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding Impacts efficiency and effectiveness of the team and has significant input into priorities. Accomplishing business objectives and deliverables by effectively managing the team, taking part in planning and prioritizing features/deliverables. Hire, onboard, train, mentor and coach the team and develops growth opportunities for them. Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability Demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions Drive design reviews, define interfaces between code modules, and applies existing technology to designs Be responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure Work closely with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility. Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measure Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/ Management or in ‘STEM’ Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) 3+ years of managerial and operational experience supporting production environments in public cloud-AWS/Azure/GCP Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise: Experience in managing and supporting large scale production environments in public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) 4+ years of experience with AWS core services- IAM, EC2, EBS, VPC, Networking, Security, ELB/ALB, S3, RDS and others. Experience in cloud infrastructure with automation using Terraform/ArgoCD/Crossplane Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible/Puppet/Chef Understanding of containerization technologies- Docker/Kubernetes/Mesos/Rancher Experience with Monitoring & Alerting tools: Splunk, Sensu, Prometheus, Zabbix, Graphite, Grafana Understanding of Unix/Linux/CentOS/RedHat operating systems Understanding of networking protocols like HTTPS, TCP, VPN, DNS, Subnets, Route tables, Firewalls, Load Balancers etc. Nice to have Scurm/PMI certification Business Acumen: Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective Leadership: Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Established project management skills.
