Job description: PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

SITE OF SERVICE:

  • U.S. Naval Hospital Guam and associated Branch Health Clinics.
  • Full Time Temporary Position **Starting in July with estimated 12 weeks assignment*

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree: Certificate.
  • Education: Possess one of the following:
  • Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)
  • Formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program)
  • Formal medical services training program of the United States Military.
  • Certification: Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Additional Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience: Have minimum of 1 year of full-time experience within the last 3 years.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen
  • English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
  • Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.

HOURS:

  • Services shall be provided Sunday through Saturday, between the hours of 0000 and 2359 for an 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, 12.5 or 13 hour period.
  • Each shift includes an uncompensated 30 or 60 minute meal break depending on shift length.
  • In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
