Job description – Clinical Informaticist Responsibilities Clinical Informaticist will be responsible for: .Work across clinical decision support, information and knowledge management, clinical documentation, order entry/order sets/smart sets in system design, build, implementation, and adoption of the EHR and HIT. .Work collaboratively across clinical informatics (medical informatics, clinical decision support, clinical content, instructional design, site support & training, continuous improvement, clinical technologies), analytics, IT, and operational teams as needed to meet goals. .Have a working knowledge of human-computer interaction and adult learning principles. .Acquire and maintain knowledge of EHR and HIT use across multiple service lines, domains, care settings, EPIC modules and environments. .Prepare users for and support users in scheduled and unscheduled downtime events, upgrades, and updates. .Maintains systems to meet regulatory, state, and federal standards. .Champion data integrity and semantic interoperability. .Support the progression towards the use of standard concepts and terminologies to support evidence-based practice, clinical research, quality improvement, and education. .Evaluates the social, legal, regulatory, and ethical impact of informatics solutions on healthcare workflows and processes. .Use the following skills to engage end users, technical resources, and stakeholders: Assessment & Consultation Workflow Mapping Issues Identification Outcomes Identification Planning Implementation Evaluation Innovation. .Understand business, regulatory, and learner needs able to balance approaches to meet competing stakeholder needs. .Apply knowledge of both clinical workflows and IT systems to improve efficiencies. Solve complex issues and incorporate quality,regulatory, and other high priority organizationalinitiatives in partnership with operations and IT colleagues. .Utilize informatics concepts, methods, and tools to promote safe and effective use of technologies by aiding, troubleshooting, educating, and providing project coordination when called upon. .Apply broad knowledge of healthcare processes to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice and health care operations while remaining focused on the interaction of people, processes and technology for the complete and accurate delivery of information needed for efficient, high quality and safe patient care. .Build and maintain relationships across operations and IT and continually assesses the usability of HIT through observations, continuous evaluation, and testing. .Adept in PDSA methods and change management, serving as change agents themselves. They team with informatics, IT, and operational colleagues to assess, plan, and evaluate changes to systems and can identify the impact of changes on clinical workflows. .Helps operations in prioritization of HIT needs and adheres to defined change processes in operations and IT. Accurately identifies stakeholders and communicates clearly and effectively across the organization. .Assist with testing of training plans and course curricula. Participate in end user support through conducting training classes, one-to-one training, at-the-elbow support, or remote assistance. .Assist with the configuration and setup of new clinical users within the EHR. Teach and support applications, tools, and processes that assist clinicians with the management of data in patient care and the provision of health care. .Participate in training and communication of updates and changes of applications to end users .Trouble shoots the training and practice environments. Tests curriculum examples and exercises in the training environment, feeds back testing results to principal trainer roles. .Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce variation and ensure effective andefficient use of resources .Use ServiceNow as needed to document daily work, enter incident, and request tickets. Resolves ServiceNow tickets in a timely manner with minimal rework and seeks appropriate guidance when needed. Documents and shares applied solutions with team members. .Work directly with end users to understand and accurately describe issues. Independently gathers and documents business requirements and processes/workflows across operational areas as assigned. .Under supervision, works to implement solutions to system related problems as assigned. . .Provide site support and training to EPIC EHR and HIT end users. .Work directly with end users to understand and accurately describe issues. .Use ServiceNow as needed to document daily work, enter incident, and request tickets. Resolves ServiceNow tickets in a timely manner with minimal rework and seeks appropriate guidance when needed. Documents and shares applied solutions with team members. .Gathers and documents business requirements and processes/workflows across operational areas as assigned. .Under supervision, works to implement solutions to system related problems as assigned. . . Qualifications .Education: Bachelor’s Degree in health care or related field from an accredited program, informatics degree from an accredited institution or combination of related education and experience. .Experience: 1-3 years clinical healthcare experience and/or 1-3 years informatics-related experience working in a health system directly with end users. Must understand clinical care workflows, clinical operations, and have a working knowledge of computer systems and systems life cycle.
