The team you’ll part of
Cloud and Network Services is a leading Nokia business group that offers Network solutions on Core, Business and Enterprise segments, as well as Cloud solutions and Cognitive Services. It is a newly formed business group, that includes most of the former Nokia Software business, Nokia’s enterprise solutions, core network solutions including both voice and packet core, and managed and advanced services from its former Global Services unit. This unit will also act as a delivery channel of certain products from other business groups to enterprise customers. Cloud and Network Services (CNS) will target growth by leveraging the industry transition to cloud-based delivery, network-as-a-service business models, and software-led value creation.

What you will learn and contribute to

  • Both in-depth & wider Cloud technology experience in customer facing environment.
  • Need for an acute understanding of the impact of mission critical activities in CLOUD.
  • Working on challenging technical problems and have a passion for solving problems with innovative and robust solutions.
  • Person should actively look for ways to automate and simplify complex processes, think ahead to future needs as well as present, take pride in being thorough and detail-oriented, and function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensures documentation and implementation of best practices / learnings

Your skills and experience
You have:
– 3-4 years of experience on cloud technology is mandatory. Experience in telco cloud (e.g. ETSI MANO, OpenStack, SDN, Open-O, ONAP, SRIOV, OVS, DPDK)
– In-depth understanding of “Cloud” technologies and ecosystem, Open Stack Architecture and the components
– Must know architecture, operations and be able to troubleshoot bugs within OpenStack to achieve root cause analysis
– Basic understanding of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD – Understanding on all aspects of DevOps tool chain (Continuous integration, Continuous delivery, Test automation, Monitoring)
– Hands on experience of yaml and json language. – Strong expertise on Nokia Cloud platform solutions (CBIS/NCS) – Understanding of Nokia Continuous Delivery and its components
– Basic knowledge of Azure Fundamentals, Agile methodology and latest DevOps trends.
– Identifying relevant specific components and interfaces needed for a cloud infrastructure & virtualization platform.
– Cloud Management Platform (VIM controller)
– End to end architectural know how on Open stack components (RHEL host OS & Linux components) – Working on SRIOV, PCI-PT, OVS compute nodes, Nova (Compute) knowledge
– Cloud – execution environment, cloud orchestrators, Knowledge on Performance tool like Zabbix, ceilometer
– Excellent knowledge on Data centers, Compute, Storage (CEPH storage) and Networking-DC network virtualization based on SDN controllers and virtual switches
– NFV architecture – Tenant virtual network implementation stretching across multiple NFVI – Demonstrated experience in cloud administration in datacenter.
– Demonstrated experience in engineering and virtualization in the cloud environment including virtual machine deployment and management, cloud orchestration, service instantiation and assurance and cloud analytics(optional).
– Backup/restore and Upgrade rollback – Linux distributions: Ubuntu, Centos, Red hat – Live experience in deploying the Cloud Infra using Red Hat Open Stack using Triple O.
– Trouble shooting with OS for memory and CPU utilization breaches.
– Expert level Linux OS troubleshooting. Ability to troubleshoot issues with the underlying components of OpenStack when investigating incidents or testing new features and projects
– Demonstrated ability to use configuration languages like Puppet/Chef/Ansible/Salt/Bash to create automations and manage systems
– Understands service deployment using the Virtualization, Orchestration, Image, and Bare Metal Provisioning services etc.
– Strong in fundamentals including Networking, Security, OS concepts, Virtualization etc.
– Design, Implement and Maintain Cloud infrastructure and services
– Server Hardware and Software integration & testing, installation of virtualization services, Cloud, server OS, applications.
– Configuring storage, networking and security functionalities.
– Storage knowledge like HP, EMC and IBM LUN creation and allocation.
– Network Knowledge with create and assigning VLANS.
– Debugging of problems: identifying and viewing logs, compare/contrast, investigation
– Storage: manage, create, investigate performance issues, and debug.
– Experience with tcpdump, netstat and other network sniffing tools
– High Availability implementation experience; pacemaker, corosync, heartbeat (1|2)
– MySQL or another Database Administration
– Prior experience in Systems Architecture or Systems Engineering, Cloud, Network Operation are desirable.
Web/Application Development Skills Preferred: – Write basic application in an object-oriented programming language like Python or PHP
– HTML and CSS
– Shell/python scripting.
Hardware skills and competencies include: – Monitoring tools / applications
– HP c7k Platform
– HP other platforms
– DELL HW – Storage Array Management
– EMC VNX series hardware
– NetApp E-series hardware knowledge is added advantage
– Nokia Airframe hardware knowledge is added advantage
Networking relevant skills:
– ISO model
– TCP/IP
– Ability to understand and read network config files
– Understand netmasks, GWs, routes, ospf, static routing, lacp, trunks, vlans, vxlans
– Proxy: familiarity, understand what it is, has ideas to resolve
– Debug routing errors, trace E2E path
– Understand Leaf/Switch topology
– DNS, DHCP, NTP
Certifications (Mandatory):
– RH Open stack certification (CL210 | CL310)/ Services Professional (L3) CBIS R20 Care Engineer Certification
– CKA
– Python

Skill Sets/Behaviors:
– Preferred Degree(s): Graduate degree (B.E) with at least 8-10 years of domain experience
– Preferred Major(s): Electronics & Telecommunications Engineer, Computer
– Required language: English fluent (all communications and documents are done in English).
– Skills & Behaviors: Self-driven, strong communication skills, able to lead and drive team to consensus, work experience in cloud computing/telco domain preferred
