Job summary: The is a hybrid role where primary responsiblilites include managing overall performance of the MedComm team including timely planning and proper execution of projects and deliverables, along with working as Global Scientific Advisor on projects. Key responsibilities: Categorise in headlines the key responsibilities that demonstrates the variety of roles that the organisation expects the position to fulfil. . People management: Function as operational team lead with people management responsibility for Global Scientific Advisors and Medical Illustrators in MedComm . Global Scientific Advisor: Planning, preparation and execution of medical communication materials/scientific events People management: . Manage and develop team . Collaborate with Manager and other team leads/employees in the department to facilitate functioning of the team in GBS and Zurich as one global team . Resource planning and prioritisation of department tasks to ensure optimal and flexible use of resources (including timely identification and resolution of resource gaps), and monitoring and reporting of department performance . Set targets for the team and follow up on deliverables . Responsible for people processes and people development incl. performance management, job descriptions, Individual Development Plans (IDP), salary, bonus and nomination of employees for promotions .Executes Evolve and follow-up . Coaching, mentoring and delegation . Involved in recruitment and terminations . Drive continual improvement, contribute to setting direction for GMA-BLR and ensure that the business targets for the department are met . Drive development of the team and individuals by seizing and creating opportunities related to actual business needs . Collaborate with different employees in MedComm and departments within and outside of GMA-BLR and maintain a good working relationship with stakeholders and counterparts Global Scientific Advisor: . Deliver timely accurate and credible medical communication materials across medical affairs focus areas to internal and external stakeholders Evidence generation: . Back-end and on-site support for clinical activities driven by Global Medical Affairs KOL engagement: . Gather and analyse medical and scientific feedback, e.g. from KOL interactions in advisory boards . Support medical affairs teams in the development and execution of scientific story line, content, topics of global advisory boards . Support medical affairs teams in the development and execution of scientific communication during high quality global meetings (e.g. scientific expert meetings, symposia etc.) Publication Planning: .Development of posters and publication slide decks in collaboration with the Global Publication Manager and Medical Illustrator Scientific and medical education: . Support medical affairs teams in the development of and execute strategy for medical education activities for each product/project (CME and non-CME) . Support medical affairs teams in executing global medical education and medical communication plan to ensure KOL/HCP recognition and understanding of clinical profile of compound through presentations of data, participation in meetings and symposia, and personal visits Internal Medical guidance: . Support medical affairs teams in development of communication materials based on accurate scientific data . On-site support for medical guidance activities driven by global medical affairs Independence and decision-making: . Works independently and has proven leadership skills .In general, decisions are complex and involve coordination with manager, other internal stakeholders in the HQ organization, and/or external stakeholders. Knowledge, skills and experience: Minimum knowledge required to fulfil job responsibilities (not actual CV from candidate/employee) Education: .MD / Ph.D. with substantial clinical and/or research expertise relevant area (e.g. Endocrinology, General Practice or Internal Medicine) Experience: .Has minimum of 2 years experience as Global Scientific/Medical Advisor .Has minimum of 5 years experience from the pharmaceutical industry .Excellent written and spoken English .Substantial experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Experience in providing training and support in medical writing tasks .Good knowledge of Global Medical Affairs principles and Medical communication requirements .Willingness to coach colleagues and support team development .Team work skills, ability to get results through others and to work in a highly motivated team .Extrovert, engaged, dynamic, results-driven .Ability and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment .Ability to engage and collaborate with people with different backgrounds (science, business, etc.) .Excellent networking abilities .Experience and willingness to work in an international matrix organisation .Excellent presentation skills .Strategic mindset .Passionate about influencing industry from a medical point of view .Ability to manage complex tasks and organizational issues .Ability to engage and collaborate with people of different cultural background Mandatory Requirements: .
