This position is for Beckman Coulter team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore

IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 700+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Digital Teams, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet, SCIEX, IDBS, Laetus and Cepheid.

The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.

The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility.

The Software Development Team is seeking an enthusiastic experienced Software Developer to support our Business Unit Systems, Software and Automation in the area of Clinical Lab Automation. In this role you will report directly to local Software Development Manager who is part of the DxA-Software Development Team. You will closely collaborate with the DxA Software development Team in Munich, Germany with the ICE Development Team in Bangalore, India and with the DxA Verification Team in IDC, Bangalore, India.

Key Accountabilities

  • You will be the Technical Lead Developer in your local team, and you will closely collaborate with the DxA Software development Team in Munich, Germany, with the ICE Development Team in IDC and with the DxA Verification Team in IDC.
  • You are part of the Development Team and additionally support your teammates with your technical expertise.
  • You translate high-level requirements which are created by System Engineers and Architects into actionable SW Designs and Requirement Specifications and actively contribute to the implementation of the requested functionality.
  • Since Quality is of utmost importance to Beckman Coulter, you foster the respective “code of conduct for developers” and lead your teammates by example to highest quality standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders at other Beckman Coulter sites, technical leaders, and executives to communicate projects status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Actively keeps abreast of emerging trends and technology changes.
  • Collaborate with a global ecosystem of peers and partners in meeting objectives.
  • Ensure compliance to all appropriate Quality Management Systems and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology with 15 plus years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Work experience should include 5+ years of technical lead experience in multi-disciplined projects and 3+ years of experience in Agile software development.
  • Very good knowledge in C# .NET and main principles of .NET Framework/.NET Core, e.g. asynchronous programming models, threading models, garbage collection
  • Good knowledge in automated testing and continuous integration principles
  • Good knowledge in state-of-the art design patterns
  • Some experience in GUI development and related technologies
  • Experience with SQL server and relational databases is an advantage.
  • At least some years’ experience of working in medical device development, need to be familiarized with standards such as ISO13845 and ISO62304
  • Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.
  • Fast learner able to quickly become adept at using the Danaher Business System tool set.
  • Readily accepts responsibility and accountability for project success and key decisions.
