In this role, you have the opportunity to
Manage different functional/competency teams, units and respective budgets within R&D software development focused on shaping and delivering new or upgrading existing software that will combine our strong current products and actively focus on creating new solutions to our customers. You will play a vital role within a profitable business as well as competitive and top in the marketing. You are responsible for
- Executing on the organization’s strategy, providing clearly defined success
criteria and levels of accountability for individuals in the team. * Removing impediments for the progress of the teams and acts as an escalation point
- Consistently delivering high Quality software at a sustainable speed maintaining an advanced level of software craftsmanship as established by the SW CoE.
- Managing inter-disciplinary team comprising System Verification Engineers, Technical Test engineers, Automation Test Engineers and Clinical Test Specialists.
- Provide direction to different sub-group leads on test and resource/lab planning, clinical site selection and contracts preparation.
- Technically review various Verification plans & reports of system verification, reliability, AST, Tech Comm. groups on various new products and sustaining releases of value segment ultrasound.
- Approve all Test Data, Test Procedures and project documents per Engineering Manager Role.
- As a people manager, regular one-one with team, mentoring & coaching to drive growth of team-members.
- Work well under pressure to get the job done per established processes, ensuring 100% compliance.
- Manage budgets to maintain /ramp-up lab infrastructure
- Demonstrate Leadership and delegate appropriate tasks to the correct team experts.
- Understand and implement any required /new processes for continual improvement (CMMI, lean, automation, tools etc.)
- Collaborate with other system test groups across healthcare groups at PIC.
- Using best in class practices regarding recruitment and selection, adequate staffing, remuneration, goal setting and performance appraisals and people development.
- Using technical content and deliverables as well as feedback from others when appropriate
- Driving an engaged, innovative, and inspiring working environment in the teams by motivating, challenging and coaching employees.
- Actively managing the portfolio of resources, tools and training to accomplish current and future key objectives.
- Managing the needed capabilities whilst developing and maintaining a long-term view on the required competences and knowledge.
- Contributing to the technical innovation of the product and/or systems, which the teams are accountable for by providing insights, hands-on technical reviews and continuous feedback.
- Staying up-to-date on the relevant technology domain. Enjoying self-learning and bringing new technical practices and innovations to the team.
- Collaborating with relevant internal and external parties establishing an effective network to obtain input on technological developments, identifying trends and opportunities.
- Executing on continuous improvement in processes and ways of working to achieve operational excellence.
- Making informed business and technical decisions quickly as the result of well-directed data gathering, effective analysis and good judgement.
- Balancing the tension between daily tasks and the long-term strategic vision of the organization.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- Master/Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline
- 14+ years of software engineering experience with 6+ years of experience in people management
- People management experience of an 18+ members engineering team is key
- Experience in API automation using frameworks like Postman/RestAssure
- Experience in Web application automation using frameworks like Selenium
- Experience/exposure to BDD using tools like Cucumber
- Experience in building non-functional automation scripts for performance, reliability, resilience tests
- Experience with design and coding in object-oriented programming languages, specifically Java and JavaScript
- Experience in Agile WoW is a big plus
- Test Automation Experience with emphasis on Proficient in instrument verification and validation testing-preferred
- Solid experience in test automation, test plan/protocols, executing testing activities, generating, and analyzing test reports
- Understanding of global medical device regulatory environments and clearance processes.
- Good communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in influencing business stakeholders on software aspects to come to effective decisions
- Ability to establish and maintain strong internal/external relationships
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
- Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization, in an international setup
- Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
- Excellent and inspiring leadership and communication skills
- Development/leading development of complex Software teams in System domains
- E2E Understanding in development of healthcare/similar complexity systems
- Customer-focused, strong domain knowledge, team player and excellent communication skills.
