Job description: WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- As the Senior Technical Product Manager (TPM) for Product Innovation and Consumer Creation on the NIKE Technology team, you’ll be responsible for delivering Business Solutions, Platform Services, and Reporting Solutions to the business.
- Be a Product advocate; can describe the Product, its value, how it works, and how it is adopted, speak to upcoming changes and tailor the information to the audience.
- The primary role of the Senior Technical Product Manager will be to represent the customers of the data products and ensure it aligns with stakeholder expectations.
- A technical product manager comes with a strong technical background who, apart from laying out the roadmap and articulating the need for the product, is typically also able to work very closely with Engineering and help influence the solution design, by being involved in technical aspects of solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Owns a product, platform or set of features. Propose enhancements and accountable for execution, measurement of outcomes, and continuous improvement. Fulfill the agile scrum role of Product Owner for a squad.
- Collaborate with, interpret and act as the voice of the customer for product team and bring the team to the customer whenever possible.
- Work directly with users, UX design, other product managers & leaders, stakeholders, and the product team to define product needs, outcomes, and metrics (product KPIs) applying user centric design principles.
- Ensure the product/platform team has the full context and understanding of customers and business environment to create valuable solutions. Work with team to ensure all stories are supported, clear, and delivered in high quality.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the users of the product/platform and apply this in developing proposals and in executing changes.
- Contribute to the Product/Platform Strategy & Roadmap, highlighting/owning risks and dependencies. Ensure the readiness of the work (accept or reject work results) and that the work is aligned with the Roadmap
- Own, maintain and prioritize product/platform backlog; facilitate feature & user story mapping, break features into stories (functional and non-functional), define acceptance criteria, and ensure capacity for enablers and defects.
- Prioritize and make trade-offs based on understanding of strategies, budget, epics, enabler requirements, defects, dependent teams, goals, and the value features and stories bring to customers and the business
- Assist in removing roadblocks for the product/platform team
- Understand how features are performing, and the level of customer satisfaction, and provide suggestions for improvements
- Provide input to the resource needs and plan for the product/platform
WHAT YOU BRING
We’re looking for someone who has a proven track record of being able to navigate through complex product landscapes and having delivered successful data products. To that effect, we are looking for someone with these skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or another relevant business/technology field. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred, but not a must.
- 6+ years of professional experience in IT or business domain, with hands-on proficiency with data and analysis.
- Prior experience in Business or Technology roles with experiences in Capability Strategy, Product Management, Business Systems Analytics, Data & Analytics or Engineering.
- Has successfully developed and implemented a system/ product/service/feature/ for a customer, evaluated its performance, and proposed and executed approaches to continually improve it. Has successfully analyzed the outcome of a landscape change, feature or improvement and developed actionable recommendations.
- Develops collaborative relationships with technical and design colleagues and display strong team behaviors.
- Has demonstrated the ability to prioritize features and other work in consideration of roadmap, value, and strategy considerations.
- Expertise in relevant development tools & technology, with the ability to apply that knowledge independently in their work.
- Has a broad understanding of various software development approaches, including waterfall, agile, scrum, and Kanban.
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with Product teams, Product Managers, and other Agile team members.
- Proficient with Roadmap Aha, Jira, and similar Agile tools.
- Proficient with Data Warehouse Tools and a good understanding of data transformation & processing technologies.
