Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Within your first 6 months:
You will be expected to become competent with VMware’s portfolio, use-cases and value proposition
You will support pre-sales and manage post-sales effort with Account Executive assigned on a specific targeted region
You will need to orchestrate territory coverage thought effective collaboration of internal teams/specialists
You will develop (and potentially deliver) onsite and remote product and solution presentations and demonstrations
You will identify additional business development opportunities within the customers organization and ensure these opportunities are effectively covered and followed by the sales team
Within your first 12 months:
You will analyze and understand customer cloud and applications transformation strategy
You will lead and co-ordinate responses to RFI/Q/P from a technical perspective for the customer
You will develop scenario-based solution demonstrations based upon real world examples
You will create new whiteboard presentations and content with a focus on storytelling

As part of the Solution Engineering team
Talking to customer representatives at management, operations or developer level with confidence
Presenting and demonstrating transformative VMware technologies that can make their strategic vision a reality
Designing the right technology solutions to meet customers’ biggest business challenges, taking advantage of a rich portfolio of VMware products and services.
Focusing on problem solving and successful customer outcomes
Designing the process of migrating or transforming legacy customer’s solutions to the multi-cloud or cloud ready environments
Our requirements from you as a part of the Solution Engineering team:
Experience architecting/operating solutions built on VMWare
Strong customer facing and relationship building skills, coupled with your listening and questions-based selling skills help you see the “big picture” and develop innovative solutions to achieve customer’s goals
Readiness for learning/developing
Experience/understanding in one of the public cloud service providers AWS, AZURE or GCP
Experience/understanding in DevOps environments with GitHub/Lab, CI/CD pipeline and Kubernetes
Through close collaboration with sales, professional services, and many other teams, a Solutions Engineer builds long term customer relationships, ensuring the customer meets their business challenges through adoption and consumption of VMware solutions.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
This position reports to the Senior Manager of the Solution Engineering Team, an experienced leader with long engineering, IT background. The team consists of highly competent junior and senior engineers across India. This role is dedicated to India
North/South/West
territory. We focus on interactive, proactive pre-sales practices.
You will be initially part of the established team that has a wide range of core responsibilities, but the expectation is that you will grow to specialist, lead or management position later. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to start new things and put their mark on a team and company.
Where is this role located?
Delhi , the role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
