Senior Software Engineer (Java) Would you like to work on software products that make a difference Join our Software Engineering Team Working with Mendeley, our team supplies an invaluable toolset for managing References and Citation within the Scientific and Health Research. Engineer the future As a member of our team based in London, you will take part in the design and development of Mendeley’s flagship researcher-productivity products. You will collaborate with a passionate Agile team to create innovative solutions for our customers. You will be involved in the software development life cycle from design to coding and unit testing, through to deployment and operation. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will handle: Working in an agile development team Writing software while following testing, coding and development process best practices to create robust and stable products Completing bug fixes and resolving technical issues to ensure quality and performance Designing and working with complex data models Contributing to the technical direction of the Mendeley APIs, Services and Libraries Cultivating discussion and documenting team decisions via Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), including aspects such as Architecture, Security, Privacy and Disaster Recovery Developing your skills and knowledge through constant self-directed learning of modern technologies Requirements To be successful in this role you will: Demonstrate good written and verbal communication Work collaboratively with internal and external teams Have expertise in Java and Java-related technologies Experience with one or more data manipulation languages Mentor software developers on software development, development methodologies and optimization techniques Work in a way that works for you.
