As Senior Content and Publishing Analyst you will be responsible for the following: Essential Duties: Work with the Director, Editorial Strategy and Publishing Policy to develop and enhance LWW’s open access publishing program, specifically focused on and Assessing the overall quality and thoroughness of author-submitted case reports, using the CARE guidelines as a template. Providing constructive feedback to authors with a goal to improving their submission. Adjudicating revisions and submitting an editorial decision consistent with the journal’s editorial mission. In addition, this role will provide clinical assessments of Wolters Kluwer/Medknow titles and provide constructive feedback and strategy on advancing the standing of journals within the scientific community. Liaison and regular communication with authors, editors and external teams. Assist in developing strategic priorities based on industry/competitive analysis, idea generation, and site and marketplace research. Collaborate with marketing & sales to drive digital downloads and/or website traffic Remain knowledgeable about and trends in digital technology, design and functionality. Collaborate to obtain customer research and feedback regarding downloads, usage and visitor behavior. Conduct competitive analysis and monitor emerging market trends to identify areas for differentiation and improvement. Help to ensure Revenue & Margin goals for all products are met or exceeded. Effectively manage internal/external editorial resources and relationships to ensure operational efficiency. Provide reports on product updates, web metrics, and other key indicators as required. Attend industry events including new media programs to enhance skills & knowledge in online, digital and mobile publishing. Collaborate with publishing team in contributing to the completion of all the above tasks and duties. Minimum Qualifications: Advanced Sciences Degree, or 5+ years of STM publishing experience. 3 + years of publishing experience Background in medical writing and/or editing. Firm understanding of journal publishing and the peer review process. Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of STM (Science, Technology, & Medical) publishing experience preferred. 3 years’ experience supervising the flow of scientific content from submission, through the peer review process, and into production in a supervisory capacity. Experience with online manuscript submissions systems. Experienced in developing workflows for editorial offices. Experience in management and execution of major projects with strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrate proven organizational and planning skills while exhibiting detail-oriented behavior. Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
