Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support various global TE locations for Geometrical and Dimensional Metrology of New products (First Article Inspection, Post Tool Correction Dimensional Validation, PPAP Measurement Reports etc.).
- Regular interactions to define Metrology Feasibility and Strategy by understanding measurement requirements/specifications from internal customers (Product Engineers / Mold Engineers) as per 2D/3D drawings and CAD Models, and effectively translating them into measurement programs in a Metrology Software.
- Work with the Supervisor / Manager to set performance objectives for self and assigned Engineers based on Organization’s goals and roadmap. Reviewing periodically to obtain necessary feedback for improvement. Post the review, providing necessary feedback & support to the team for meeting the objectives.
- Responsible for managing efficiency and effectiveness of assigned direct reports. Also, reviewing the same with the help of KPIs, submitting reports and implementation of necessary corrective actions in consultation with the management.
- Support Supervisor / Manager in effective resource management and workload distribution considering forecast, employee leave plans, peak load situation etc.
- Responsible for quality & delivery of the reports. Adhere to the defined process but with a continual improvement mindset. Demonstrate ceaseless efforts in reviewing the existing process to identify the scope for improvement and support implementation.
- Knowledge sharing and coaching based on team’s operational requirements and strategies.
- Assessing the skill level of the team members against the requirement and preparing necessary training plans to bridge the gap.
- Guide assigned Engineers in case of ambiguities and improve the knowledge and skill in the field of product measurement and validation in terms of GD&T – ASME/ISO GPS.
- Work in a Metrology lab environment, that has advanced machines which generates precision Measurement data (CMM, VMS, 3D Scanner).
