Job description: The incumbent would be leading a team of ME Engineers & Technicians and would be responsible for managing work schedules and budgets related to existing manufacturing process engineering, establishment and sustaining / improving lean manufacturing systems and responsible for PQCDMES targets.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintaining manufacturing operation sequences, specifications, equipment, requirements for production/assembly of products.
  • Maintain and control the established quality management system documents line Process flow, PFMEA, Control plan and SOP in the production phase respecting IATF 16949 standards
  • Accountable for BSC metrics like OEE productivity improvement , Safety, Quality and Scrap.
  • ME Responsible for customer complaints 8D interim containment actions(ICA) and permanent corrective action(PCA) closure.
  • Drive continuous improvement (CI) projects through Lean Management in the assembly line.
  • Capital budgeting for repair , replacement and CI projects
  • Troubleshoots manufacturing problems and implementing sustainable corrective actions and implement SPC, poka-yoke and other Process capability monitoring tools reducing process variation
  • Process development for Jigs, fixtures preferably with automation as feasible. Tool trials & establishing production of component manufacturing & assembly of products.
  • Conducts cost analysis to determine the feasibility of proposed changes. Reviews alternatives to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
  • Promotes culture of continuous improvement and implements lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Be part of BW ETTS Manufacturing council and implement Best Practices Develop and maintain all standard manufacturing processes relating to process development, equipment design, change management and process.
  • Leads in the following areas: methods, tools, jigs and fixtures, equipment, product and tooling cost estimates, work simplification and method improvements.
  • Knowledge in SAP desirable (Production module).
  • Suggesting and implementing process improvements to maximize the capacity utilization and thereby achieving production targets.

Job Requirements & Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or ECE 15 to 20 years in manufacturing engineering /process development experience or equivalent experience.
  • 6 Sigma Black belt certified and a motivated personnel to solve problems and coach others
  • Lean manufacturing tools and techniques implementation exposure.
  • Manufacturing traceability and Industry 4.0 knowledge and exposure.
  • Experienced in handling Automatic and Semi-automatic assembly lines, Familiar with assembly of electromechanical assemblies, plastics Injection Molding.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and guide team on right priorities.
  • Good communications skills – written and oral. Must have very strong interpersonal skills to deal with all level of employee.
  • 3D CAD experience required.
  • TPM & Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem solving (e.g. 8D, A3, Red X etc.) required.
  • Familiar with reliability expectation of all checking and test equipment’s
  • Experience in handling utility maintenance and facility infrastructures are added advantage.
