The Legal team is the guardian angel of the organization covering key aspects like contracting, mergers and acquisitions, arbitration and litigation, intellectual property, corporate affairs, company secretarial matters, etc. Additionally, the Legal team also carries the mantle of driving regulatory compliance within the organization, with Privacy Compliance being one of the key initiatives. The Legal team occupies a very strategic seat on the table and has visibility to all key matters impacting the business or the organization. So, in some ways, you can call us a “Hawk in the skies”. As a team, we are very different from the usual set of lawyers you may meet. Unlike the usual scenario, we are a team of lawyers who mean business when it comes to a problem but solve the same with collaboration and fun. So, lawyer or not a lawyer, we would treat you like Superman, if you too can save the day for us! Position Overview As Manager of Compliance and Privacy, you will be primarily responsible for embedding a Privacy by Design culture in all aspects of our business. You will have the platform to interact with senior stakeholders, identify opportunities of process/product improvements and make a significant impact to the growth journey. The role requires high level of dynamism with a chance to provide consultation on day-to-day privacy use case scenarios or to provide inputs on tactical and strategic initiatives. You would have the opportunity to collaborate with all functions across the organization – Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, IT – you name it, and you will work with them! What you will be doing? Lead and manage assigned projects or work streams for compliance and data privacy and assist in enforcement of project deadlines, schedules and reporting Manage expectations of diverse stakeholders, including customers, vendors and senior management Coordinate and manage activities across the business units and collaborate with virtual and multicultural teams Closely work with senior management and Legal regarding compliance and data privacy Identify and promote examples of good practice within the business Assist in the preparation of new documented information as well as updates to current ones Assist in planning and conducting process led internal/ external audits, at planned intervals Drive training and awareness campaigns across the organization to build a privacy culture Strengthen design of key privacy processes and introduce innovative mechanisms to achieve regulatory resilience What do we expect? Someone who can be a good follower, and also be a leader, when the situation demands Proven experience in analyzing practical implications of legislative privacy requirements and implementation of recommendations to achieve privacy-aligned outcomes. Big 4 experience is preferred Pro-active, passionate, self-starter with an excellent can-do attitude Candidates with background of working in large technology environments would be preferred Candidates with CIPP/CIPM/CIPT would be preferred Candidates with Computer Science/Information Technology and/or LLB/LLM academic background would be preferred Candidates with preliminary/advanced understanding of ad-tech industry would be preferred 3-5 years of relevant experience Job skill requirement Clear understanding of privacy concepts. We focus on clarity of knowledge and not on quantity of knowledge Strong communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement Ability to analyze and interpret practical implication of privacy requirements and provide guidance to achieve compliance Ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment Ability to present confidently to groups and senior stakeholders Strong program management skills Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for yielding optimal operational productivity & performance.
