Job Description : Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24×7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. What you’ll achieve As a Lab Support Engineer 2 will be responsible for Perform installations, preventive and remedial maintenance of servers, software, network, storage and SAN equipment located in LAB computing environment. Adhere to administrative policies and escalation procedures. Interface with application, server and storage vendors to establish successful integration of equipment into associated systems, including technical assistance. Works with engineering departments to develop successful measurements to establish metrics. Ability to proactively monitor applications and data center environments for networking events and actions. You will: Identify and fix underlying HW, infrastructure, and configuration issues on hosts, storage arrays, network, or SAN (primary responsibility) Setup, configure, provision & maintain VMware ESX server and vSphere and Dell EMC Storage Arrays Deploy & Create Virtual Machines on VMware VCenter environment Install Operating system like Windows, Linux, Solaris, HP UNIX and AIX and Install and Update O/S patches & security patches. Recreate customer scenarios/setups in lab environment on need basis and participate in an on-call rotation with the other team members. Here’s what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements 2 to 5 years of experience as a system administrator with background in configuring and/or administering SAN storage arrays. Experience zoning on fiber channel switches (Brocade preferred command line experience preferred) and hardware background. Knowledge of virtualization technologies – VMware vSphere and Linux Scripting and/or programming knowledge (Bash or Python preferred). Availability to work in 24×7 shifts. Desirable Requirements Experience with Python Scripting is added advantage. Experience with automation tools/frameworks and Jenkins is a plus but not required (Ansible preferred).
