About the Role: As analyst, you will be responsible for the summarisation and assessment of medical, financial and related evidences, required to assess individual and group life & health reinsurance applications in accordance to the regional and global underwriting guidelines The role will allow you to develop and improve the decision making skills required for wholistic underwriting of risks. Provide consistent and accurate risk selection on a timely basis through prudent case assessment and strategic thinking skills Meet and maintain the defined key objectives including quality and timely risk assessment Be willing to work at flexi-timelines, to support different regional time zones that are required for achieving the regional business goals and performance indices. Able to engage with internal and external stakeholders on operational and case level. Establishes & maintains positive relationship with internal partners. Identify & resolve service issues with internal clients /stakeholders Have the data analytical skillset to work on client specific reports and share inputs/solutions with business partners. Proficiency in excel and analytical tools. Ad-hoc support on projects driven by Cross functional teams Adhere to the process standards and guidelines for L&H Underwriting activities defined by the L&H products hub Be an integral part of the One-team for underwriting and deliver on the key must-wins for the business About the Team (Description of the team and context in which the role sits in) Life & Health Underwriting Services team supports regions across Asia (India, SEA, Hong Kong/Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand). The team has and is continuing to develop expertise in diverse insurance markets and benefits across Asia-Pacific region. The team is over a decade old and we are committed to developing proficient underwriters, with a bespoken roadmap for competency to give ongoing growth opportunities for potential candidates like you through local rotation and international assignments. Along with core role as individual insurance assessors, experienced underwriters get involved with in-house projects, product development, client trainings and audits. About you: (education, linguistic ability, professional experience, leadership qualities, soft skills) Preferred science graduate (Biology, Microbiology, etc.), Paramedical staff (Nurse, Pharmacist, etc) with an interest in financial accounting and analysis. 0 – 2 years of experience in Insurance/TPA. Preferred Life/Health Underwriters Complete end to end understanding of the insurance value chain and awareness of the legal, regulatory, tax and consumer protection framework in the market. Basics of Life Underwriting and understanding of insurance products available. Reasonable analytical, logical reasoning, problem solving and decision-making skills. Willingness to expand knowledge on Insurance/Reinsurance concepts Willing to work at different time zones to support the respective market requirements. Excellent command of English (written and spoken). Strong positive attitude and outlook to meeting business expectations and stakeholder must-wins. Ability to build rapport & maintain positive relationships with the team, market underwriters and other stakeholders Proven ability to work in a high-pressure team, under stress & deliver on the goals.
