KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This internship will provide the candidate the opportunity to understand a wide variety of tasks, and risk management approach within the Credit Division, including: An overview of how Macquarie assesses Counterparty Credit Risk, and get a chance to work independently on counterparty annual reviews. This will involve the first-hand chance to – Provide recommendations for credit limits which are supported by thorough analysis and well-executed interpretation of relevant financial, industry, country, business and market information. Understand internal rating – PD and LGD templates at Macquarie, and rate counterparties. Setting up limits in the system and coordinate the entire approval chain. Co-ordinate with internal Credit and Business teams for necessary information. Understand how Credit Analysts actively monitor credit quality and global exposure of the portfolio to Macquarie clients by being current with industry and economic trends and market information to address any credit concerns and resolve issues. Keep abreast with market news, industry trends, litigations etc. that could impact the counterparty business strength and financial position. Ensuring process and procedure documentation is up to date. The candidate will also get a chance to understand other divisions within the Risk Management Group, and Business Divisions. Pre-MBA work experience is not mandatory, but if yes, then – Work experience in credit research/credit analysis/ratings domain and/or work experience in analysis of Financial Institutions (FIs) is an added advantage. Strong numerical and analytical skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills with focus on relationship building. Cross disciplinary thinking and an entrepreneurial spirit. Willingness to work in the afternoon shift to support internal stakeholders based in EMEA and/or US.
