Job description: The Emerging Systems Lab/Telecom Systems Research (ESL/TSR) in Intel Labs is an innovative research group that works closely with Intel product groups, industry partners and consortiums as well as with the academic community to drive technology advancements and business impacts. The group researches and prototypes advanced network workloads, e.g. 5G Private Networks, 5G telecom infrastructure, and system architecture to transition today’s networking infrastructure onto high volume Intel Architecture (IA) based platforms through a combination of software-defined networking (SDN) and network-functions (NFs) operating in virtualized or containerized orchestrated Cloud Native environments on IA platform. We are looking for highly motivated software engineer and developer who will be contributing to the design and development of network related stacks and workloads in scalable, high-performance, virtualized or containerized environments. In this role you will be required to analyze, design and prototype aspects of your research, workloads and/or system features and collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate and bring advanced networking system design and workloads to life.

Qualifications

� Proficient in C/C++, Python, Linux and knowledge of system software � Understanding of virtualization, container, and orchestrator e.g., K8s., a plus � Familiar with network architecture and protocols � Knowledge of cellular network architecture and protocols a plus � Ability to analyze scalability and bottlenecks issues in systems and propose enhancements to improve performance of a scalable and distributed system � Ability to work in ambiguous technical environments Education/Experience � Graduate student – MS / PhD in CS/EE Inside this Business Group

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
