Job description: Education / Experience:
- Master level degree in HR with 10-12 years broad HR experience,
- Industrial Exposure ideally gained in a production related to Food/Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Chemical etc. industry.
- Minimum 4-6 yrs. experience in similar role.
- Strong Working knowledge of local employment legislation and ability to apply to Zentiva HR policies and practices and Industrial relations management given the unionized environment
- Proficient is MS Office tools.
- Fluency in English and Gujarati necessary.
Position Mission Statement:
- The Head of HR & Communication for Zentiva India is a key leadership role in Zentiva, responsible for setting the overall HR strategy aligned to business strategy. The scope is including all operations at Country level, such as Pharmaceutical Production, Chemistry Development & Manufacturing, Hub office in Ankle and Mumbai.
- Main purpose of the role is to create, manage and be responsible for HR operations at Zentiva India, including all the manufacturing operations, in accordance with the local legislation and internal company policies to ensure effective functioning according to the company’s needs and goals, with company’s strategy and vision in such a way that these needs, vision and strategy are fulfilled and operational and financial performance is at expected level. Contribute to the Strategy execution for Industrial operations overall scope by driving one of the organizational development initiatives part of people roadmap.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DUTIES
Leadership
- Goal orientation (sets a clear direction, identifies and sets priorities, goals, plans, and supports their fulfilment, clearly communicates relevant info regarding the goals; from HR roadmap for 3 to 5 years up to 1 year objectives monthly and quarterly monitored))
- Growth support (supports activities which lead to self-development, of others and business development, supports L&D of employees, and keeps track of business trends) as well as actions cascades from IO people roadmap related to organizational development
- Leadership (creates conditions encouraging high performance, inspires and motivates others, regularly evaluates subordinates and gives feedback, strong need to reinforce site HR team)
- Innovation and Change Encouragement (develops new and effective solutions, gives space to engage others, is flexible towards change and helps others to adapt to changes, drive engagement and strategic communication for site)
- Building Relationships (keeps professional relationships with subordinates, colleagues and customers, treats others with honour and respect, behaves politely and tactfully)
HR Strategy
- The job holder will work as a HR Business Partner with the leadership teams within the Site and to translate the current business challenges into HR plans and to implement those plans with the support of the plant and HR organisation at Zentiva level.
- In extension to site role, the person will drive the organizational development initiative at industrial operations level for sites’ scope, ensuring the site transformation across the sites is consistent and supporting the overall strategy execution program, including the needed local support for all functions located in India Hub.
HR Controlling
- Creates, implements, ensures and is responsible for headcount and personal costs planning, drawing and meeting them, capture trends and anticipate and mitigate risks. Designs and is responsible for organisational structure
Recruitment and Selection
- Designs strategy and methodology for recruitment and selection of employees and their adaptation. Is responsible for filling the org structure in accordance with the company needs. Ensures that employees’ qualifications meets requirements
Performance Management
- Creates, sets & implements performance management system in line with Zentiva group guideline, as well permanently adapted to organization dynamic and needs.
- Upskills/upgrades middle management organisation in terms of leadership and management
Management System
- Adheres to the principles communicated within the Zentiva policies as detailed in the internal rules of the Company
- Creates, manages and follow up the execution of training plan
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of positive employee relations on site, through the direction communication strategies. Acts as central figure to drive and provide guidance and support on their interpretation and application.
- Ensures compliance with employment law and contractual obligations.
- Manages the HR budget
- Improve employee relations atmosphere through robust discussions with focus on business challenges and based on mutual respect.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALITY
- Adheres to the principles of GMP in the extent related to the performed activity. Is obliged to regularly train in this policy.
HSE
Adheres to the principles communicated within the ESMS Policy of Zentiva detailed in the internal rules of the Company for the purpose of observing the rules of the Health & Safety at Work and the Environmental & Safety Management System. Identifying and correcting unsafe conditions or behaviours and promptly reporting other potentially hazardous situations
PHARMACOVIGILANCE
- All employees are obliged to report any suspicion to adverse events of medicinal products, any adverse events concerning use of a medical device and any other safety information about medicinal products or medical devices in line with relevant internal regulations
COMPLIANCE*

- The employee will comply with all internal rules of the Company, mainly with the Working Order of the Company and all other internal rules specifying the provisions of the Working Order. The employee will make her/himself acquainted with the Code of Ethics (Zentiva “Code of Common Senses”) and will comply with the principles stated therein and in all related policies and other internal documents.
Statutory Requirements
- Ensure that the statutory provisions related to labour are complied with
- Represent the Company before courts, tribunals and other legal bodies and ensure that company’s legal interests are protected.
- Advise the management in selections of hiring legal consultants, advocates in legal disputes.
- Ensuring to receive licenses and permits from various statutory authorities pertaining to Prohibition, Explosives, and Essential Commodities Narcotic, District Administration, AIA office etc.
MANAGERIAL POSITIONS REQUIRE:
- Creates, manages and evaluates the risk register and environmental aspects. Informs and trains employees and verifies their knowledge of the above.
