Job Title

Director, Database Engineering (ITSM, Incident Change Management)

Job Overview:
Own the IT Service Management Function including Strategy, Delivery, Operations, Governance, Maturity for the function
Provide leadership, direction and supervision to staff responsible for performing basic database functions and fundamental data modeling tasks.
Major Accountabilities:
. Drive Operational Excellence on RUN side ITSM maturity for the function

  • Recommends future directions.

. Provide leadership to function on IT Service Management and influence strategy

  • Coaches and develops direct reports and other employees and ensures department or project is adequately staffed, trained and effectively managed.
  • Assumes role of primary technical advisor to management on emerging technologies that could impact new developments.
  • Supports chronic complex problem resolution.
  • Participates in strategic and financial planning.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related functional area or equivalent work experience with exposure to management theories and concepts.

Knowledge / Experience:
. ITSM Expertise

  • Budget and Financial Management experience. •Experience mentoring and developing resources in a high performance culture. •Extensive knowledge of Project Management methodology and best practices. •Limited supervision and leads in determining team’s and departmental objectives. •Periodic work direction and review.

Skills/ Abilities: •Lead and manage senior technical individual contributor and management staffs. •Foster open communications across various organizational levels. •Motivate direct and indirect reports to deliver superior results. •Provide functional and directional guidance to staff and recommends policy or strategic direction changes to management. •Will interact across multiple organizational levels and will assume a lead role and set direction for large or complex projects.”
