The Senior Cloud Architect role will be part of the Nokia IT Infrastructure team which ensures the stability, availability and high performance of the infrastructure that serves Nokia’s entire workforce and upholds the technology for almost every single interaction of the company’s business. The IT Infrastructure team is responsible to set up, maintain and optimize Nokia’s enterprise computing and networking capabilities. The team administers and continuously advances our Digital Workplace and grants IT support to a global community of end-users. On top of keeping end-users satisfied every day, our immediate strategic priority is to progress rapidly in our aggressive digital transformation and in our journey towards a cloud-based environment. As a member of IT Infrastructure, you will be part of a team that is redefining IT and shaping the future of Nokia.

What you will learn and contribute to

In the role as Senior Cloud Architect, you will lead Enterprise and Solution Cloud Architecture and drive cloud architecture as a core member of the Cloud Transformation team. Responsibilities include:

  • Establish, set-up and manage cloud architecture standards for major migration from legacy data centers into the cloud
  • Be a culture-carrier and drive key architectural themes across the technology IT cloud organization: automation, DevOps, FinOps, SecOps, CloudOps, Agile, product driven
  • Drive a security, automation, cloud first mind-set and culture and enable folks who are aligning with pre-established standards to move as quickly as possible
  • Define, apply, teach, evangelize tools, frameworks, methodology, and process related to the implementation of cloud architecture concepts and solutions to accelerate the delivery of value across the enterprise to meet the ever-changing business needs

Your skills and experience

Education:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related field with Master preferred
  • Additional Major Cloud Provider Certifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of Senior Expertise in the Full Stack Development and Architecture in Public Cloud, Google experience preferred, AWS and Azure accepted
  • 9+ years of architecture, engineering, development, or infrastructure experience
  • 6+ years of solution and enterprise architecture leadership experience leading architecture initiatives which directly helped to optimize the development and shipping of enterprise applications, platforms and systems
  • Extensive expertise in cloud architectures within enterprises to enable cloud migrations at scale patterns to simplify the delivery of key requirements for federated appdev teams moving into the cloud: security, resiliency, compliance, DR, data protection, automation
  • Architecture Certification: Google Professional Cloud Architect preferred, (AWS and Azure Architect certification also accepted)
  • Expertise in all the necessary domains to cover full-stack solution architecture needs application, infrastructure (network, compute, storage, management, workplace), security, data
  • Direct experience with Agile and DevOps
  • Expertise in broad array of application architecture approaches and ways of efficiently juggling traditional vs emerging approaches
  • Containers, Kubernetes and Microservices concepts
  • Experience with open source application architectures including for example Python, DotNet, Javascript, Json, Yaml, XML, etc.
  • Proven track record of influencing and building credibility with highly technical, cross functional teams across all seniority levels
  • Experience in staying ahead of industry trends and applying industry best practices to enterprise roadmaps and challenges
  • Experience driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
  • Proven hands-on track record deploying architecture management solutions along with documenting and managing architecture standards and patterns for an enterprise

  • Deep infrastructure expertise: networking, security, compute, storage, data protection, authentication, entitlements, monitoring, management, change/incident management, etc.

  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL and No-SQL
  • Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, subnets, VPCs)
  • General knowledge about OpenStack or VMWare as a virtualization platform
  • General understanding or experience with clustering technologies
  • Cloud concepts linked with virtualization practical experience
  • General Understanding of Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. bash)
  • Expertise in designing HLD’s and LLD’s Architecture documents for public cloud environments
  • Work closely with IT security to monitor the company’s cloud privacy.
  • Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud
  • Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX, etc.)
  • Understanding of security threats and secure development practices such as data encryption and least privilege access controls.
  • Strong track record of implementing Cloud services in a variety of distributed computing environments
  • Leading highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
  • Demonstrated ability to break down problems, architect solutions and estimate efforts.
