Roles & Responsibilities Conduct cardiovascular tests to record patients’ cardiac activity using specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices and laboratory instruments as per doctor’s order. Ensure patients’ wellbeing by effective implementation of nursing procedure. Take care of customer service and ensure customer satisfaction. Ensure general health and hygiene through superior infection control process and housekeeping. Perform under the direction of a Cardiologist or In charge of imaging. Schedule appointments and maintain patient records. Prepare anesthetic, cardiac, operating theatre and operate medical testing equipment, perform and assist with laboratory tests, and fill prescriptions in support of Health Professionals. Ensure the availability of all necessary equipments, drugs & consumables. Ensure all equipments are in working order prior to the procedure and monitor the readouts and keep the doctor apprised of anything considered abnormal. Receive and position a patient on an examination table and explain the procedure clearly. Clean the area in case of cardiac catheterization (http://education-portal.com/articles/Cardiac_Catheterization_Technologist_Job_Information_for_a_Career_in_Cardiac_Cath_Technology.html) for angioplasty/angiogram under aseptic techniques. Check the vitals and report to the Cardiologist. Monitor the patient’s vitals, blood pressure and heart rate before, during and after procedure and document it. Prepare drugs for anesthesia to numb the area of insertion as per order. Assist all medical /analytical procedures with Anesthetists and surgical teams. Be prepared to meet any cardiac emergency during the procedures like hypo/hyper tension, arrhythmias etc., Post catheterization sheath removal to be done under Aseptic technique according to ACT readings. Monitor vitals, peripheral pulse and record during post cathlab period. Clean the equipments and materials (reusable) as per hospital protocol. Follow up the patient for the next day of catheterization. Document every procedure and send the MIS on time. Prepare reports of diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physician. Effectively use info life / Aosta software to improve the hospital management system Induct and train new staff on routine procedures and practices. Identify training needs of self in coordination with L&D department and ensure timely & effective undergoing of the training programs. Eligibility DGNM / B.Sc. Nursing
