About the Department Global Safety, Bangalore has global responsibility for Safety and Quality of Novo Nordisk clinical development and marketed Products and is responsible for global handling and reporting of adverse events reports. The Position Establish, maintain, and develop efficient processes for safety case handling in GS -GBS in close collaboration with departments in Denmark to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure good collaboration between GS GBS teams and Denmark teams. Daily management and development of direct reports, development plan discussions and preparation of job descriptions. Also, Act as coach, mentor and/or trainer for direct reports in relation to case handling issues and employee development. Contribute to the planning of and follow-up on the budget for GS-GBS and ensure timely completion of tasks in accordance with project milestones and with respect to the overall Novo Nordisk prioritization, Present proposals for initial salary, annual salary adjustments, bonus allocations, and promotions to Director of GS-GBS. Recruit and lay-off staff in cooperation with Director & Senior management of GS-GBS communications by email and online meetings. Plan and contribute to department meetings and the general information flow in the department. Participate in GS-GBS management meetings, raise relevant issues and inform relevant parties, and actively contribute to setting the direction and strategy for GS-GBS, Develop and maintain a network of contacts within NN Denmark, GS GBS and affiliates as well as external collaborators. Drive continuous improvement activities, including efficiency and customer satisfaction improvements. Promote job satisfaction and team spirit within the department and prepare for and/or participate in audits. Adherence to NN Occupational health and safety (OH&S) policy by ensuring that the department comply with the NN OH&S manual and the OH&S assessment in Corporate Relations. Ensure that direct reports work in compliance with Novo Nordisk SOP’s. Ensure efficient process for medical review, interpretation, and evaluation of all Serious Adverse Events (SAE) related to NN products. Ensure regular cooperation with SO and SS Advisers for evaluation of narrative/company comments to ensure continuous quality improvement and standardization to reduce resource consumption (cLEAN). Ensure that when a safety signal or alert is identified in Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSR) by the Advisers, the manager of the relevant safety surveillance department. Monitor performance including regulatory compliance by applying relevant metrics and inform Director of GS-GBS Advisers monthly, Monitor KPIs by applying relevant metrics and ensure that department KPIs are met. Secure cross-organizational collaboration with all relevant stakeholders daily and ensure adoption of global mind set. Ensure department’s time and quality compliance concerning case handling on NN products and devices. Ensure development and maintenance of departmental and functional procedures and processes related to the collection and reporting of safety data to ensure regulatory compliance. Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance to and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP)/Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements. Qualifications We are expecting you to hold the below skills and knowledge: Medical Doctor, Post Graduate medical and scientific background. 2+ years of management experience with good people skills. 5 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry or a CRO. Good knowledge of business processes including IT systems (e.g., databases and web solutions) required for the establishment of efficient handling of safety information. Knowledge of international pharmacovigilance legislation and guidelines. Good managerial and interpersonal skills as well as professional authority. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Good communication skills. Ability to perform timely and effective performance management. Documented clinical and/or scientific expertise preferably within pharmacovigilance and/or the therapy area. Knowledge of GMP and GCP. Documented experience with management of highly skilled scientific staff. Good interpersonal skills and strong sense of structure and timeliness.
