Job description: Job Overview:

The Technical/Scientific Writer will assist in the creation, review, and revision of documents and presentations that are mostly customer facing. The writer will work with multiple scientists, marketing professionals and business development professionals in the creation, editing and publishing of scientific content. The writer will understand the objective of each document to ensure that all documents contain the required content. The writer will interpret information and organize it properly for accuracy, readability, and format, while ensuring the proper grammar and spelling is used in all documents.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and format incoming requests for new or revised documents (technical and model spotlights, hot topics, web pages, marketing handouts, power point presentations) and assist in tracking each revision through the approval workflow to publication.
  • Analyze existing procedures for concurrence with correct department methods and production records relative to company policies.
  • Write procedures with appropriate details that are easily understood and readily usable
  • Collects and analyzes the information necessary to complete the creation and revision for required documents.
  • Reviews the impact of proposed changes with regards to other support documents
  • Meets internal control policies and regulations
  • Support the development of new and revised documents, including suggestions for suitable terminology, content, and format while ensuring that site policies comply with corporate guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining control of documentation to include accurate document history and change revision documentation.

Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree a master’s degree or a PhD. in a life science (with a specialization in oncology or immunology), Communications, or English

Experience:

  • BS, MS or PhD in a scientific or medical discipline with relevant writing expertise, oncology or immunology helpful.
  • 5+ years of experience as a medical/technical/scientific writer in the sponsor and/or CRO setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple high priority projects.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to complete writing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Proven expertise in implementing writing processes and standards.
  • Strong planning and project management skills, along with initiative and ability to be productive with minimal supervision and minimal administrative support.
  • Some experience working in or associated with a marketing department helpful
