Job Description
We are looking for a Technical Consultant to join Experian’s Open Data & Decision Analytics business. The Technical Consultant plays a key role in implementing solutions that deliver business benefits for our customers. This includes new prospects and new requests from existing customers, supporting requests and actively participating in the pre-sales and delivery phases of complex projects.
Ideally, once you have gained experience in the Experian product, the expectation is you will grow to be confident in presenting our solutions as well as leading technical workshops.

What you’ll be doing
- Assist in Open Data workshops and requirements definition for both internal and client/vendor projects through to sign off
- Lead and facilitate technical Workshops and requirements definition through to sign off
- Design of solution architecture and integration specifications in line with industry standards
- Development of interfaces and bespoke modules
- Development of Experian solutions specifically within the Open Data sphere of capability
- Provide technical advice and support
- Configure and install the Experian PowerCurve platform into required environments including Cloud
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Creation of User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
- Assist Project Managers on assessing, planning and organising project workload to meet project commitments within agreed timelines.
- Develop a deep / expert knowledge of Experian products and industries that Experian works with, particularly Open Banking and Open Data
- Accountable for the quality of the project deliverables
- Train, mentor or shadow colleagues as required
- Assist pre-sales with client facing technical documentation, presentations and workshops
Qualifications
Desirable Technical Knowledge
- Experience 5 – 9 Years.
- Taking on the ownership of the very technical part of the solution. This includes coding in Groovy script (or Java).
- Integration experience is required. Experience in working with API’s and API technology (RREST/SOAP, JSON, XML).
- Solution runs on AWS – Understand of AWS is required
- Changes to the solutions , development pipelines, code management systems etc.
- Experience in writing technical documentation. This will include solution architecture & associated diagrams.
- Work with other Experian teams …. E.g. our infrastructure team, networking teams, vulnerability scanning teams etc
- Installation of software into the environment .. AWS
Interpersonal skills & Business
- Being able to talk to peers within Experian.
- Technical discussions and how to consume our solution (e.g. integration). Acting as the technical representative
- Could also involve presenting to clients to walk them through our solution architecture, Answering questions on the technology and the solution. Guiding the client where required.
- This role gives someone the opportunity to learn more than just the underlying technology or the coding. Exposed to how our clients actually use the solution and the business benefit.
- Able to facilitate a meetings
- Experience in writing semi technical/functional documentation. This will include helping to bridge the gap between a hard core technical element (e.g. server components) and the next level up … how the solution works.
