About our group: Seagate is an industry leader in in the design and implementation of storage devices and systems. Our customers include some of the largest manufacturers in Japan. We are seeking a highly-qualified Engineer to take responsibility and own the customer technical relationships and drive the solutions that meet our customers’ needs. In this role, you will manage assigned projects from pre-sales, qualification and quality whichincludesdesign and documentation of equipment specifications, testing proposed solutions for effectiveness, and presenting proposals to internal and customer management. You will be expected to supervise a team to ensure that projects/tasks are completed on-time, within the allocated budget, and you will visit customer facilities to oversee implementation and quality in the field. The role will be reporting to the Customer Technical Engagement Director in Japan. About the role – you will: . Prepare business plans with detailed information on processes and customer requirements and aligned with the customer on timing and resources. . Plan technical milestones and create a cadence to communicate with customer and internal crossFunctional teams. . Develop engineering technical reports and test to meet customer needs. . Complete required technical and regulatory documents. . Ensure projects are completed on-time and within the specified budget. . Present analysis results and project solutions to technical leads, senior leaders and customers as necessary. . Monitor product performance in the field and close reported issues meeting/exceeding the customer expectations. About you: . Has in-depth knowledge of storage system and device or semiconductor . Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English languages . Willing to travel in Japan and abroad . Experience in people management Your experience includes: . 3 years of experience field technical support such as pre-sales or business development, or qualification, or quality role. . Capability and experience in cross functional alignments, and driving for result/conclusion with internal teams, or project managements. . Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication in Japanese and English, including creating and delivering presentations. . Expertise in data and problem analysis, creative problem solving and design thinking to drive closure paths. Up-to-date knowledge and technical skills required to design and operate our core products and services. Location: In response to COVID-19, this position may temporarily begin and be performed remotely. Seagate is actively evaluating the virus and our employees’ health and safety are our top priority. In the future, this position will report to and be performed at our Tokyo, Japan location. Seagate Japan was established in 1985. Our Tokyo office is located in Shinagawa business district. The office is easily accesible by train via Tennozu Isle, the Shinagawa-station as well as Tokyo (Haneda) airport.
