About the department

Global Medical Affairs, Global Business Services (GMA GBS) is an extension of Novo Nordisk Global Medical Affairs unit in Headquarters (HQ) in Denmark, is based out of GBS, Bangalore, India. One of the team within GMA-GBS is Medical Communications dept. The dept. consists of highly motivated global scientific advisors, publication managers, project managers and medical illustrators working together with global medical affairs teams based in NNHQ, Denmark. Our core competencies are communicating scientific and medical knowledge on our products to the external scientific community and across the organization, delivering external medical events including in-house content development and project management and publications management.

The position

As a Team Lead Global Scientific Advisor you will be reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Medical Affairs, you are in charge for the overall performance of the content team (global scientific advisors and publication managers), including timely planning, coordination and proper execution of projects and deliverables. Further, you are responsible for the performance and development of approximately 9 dedicated employees. Your role will be required to set the direction to the team, setting expectations and ensure high professional structure and standards within the team.

Subsequently, you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate, credible, and creative Medical-communication related materials, as per timelines across Medical-affairs focus areas to internal and external stakeholders. Above all, your experience working with global stakeholders and cross functional teams will help you to collaborate successfully in this role.

Qualifications

  • MD/PhD/M. Pharm/Pharm D with substantial clinical and/or research expertise in therapy areas (e.g., Diabetes, Obesity or CV), with Scientific writing background.
  • 3 years’ experience as a Team lead.
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in Medical-affairs or Medical-communications domain from pharmaceutical industry or CRO.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Expertise in developing content, as per target audience, with creativity and lucidity in presentation.
  • Experience in managing (onsite/online) and developing content for scientific meetings and Congresses.
  • Expertise in MS power point and MS word tools and deliverables such as Infographics and presentations. Substantial experience with MS Office (Outlook and Excel).
  • Strong focus on quality and creativity.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take feedbacks in a positive way and learn from experiences.
  • Experience in providing training and support in medical writing tasks.
  • Good knowledge of Global Medical Affairs principles and Medical communication requirement.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated, proactive and Goal oriented.
  • Ability to motivate and engage individuals with different backgrounds (science, business, etc.).
  • Ability to take up initiatives and competence in making decisions .
  • Strong ability to train and coach colleagues.
  • Team oriented personality with a high degree of flexibility and empathy.
  • Ability to communicate, plan and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Systematic and organised, detail oriented and responsible.
  • Experience and willingness to work in an international matrix organization
