We oversee product development at all stages: planning, designing, developing and testing operating systems, compilers, routers, utilities, databases, embedded management and control devices, plus internet-related tools.

What you’ll achieve
As a Software System Engineer 2, you will be responsible for contributing to the testing, certification, and validation of EMC storage products. Individuals will be responsible for configuring and optimizing the physical environment used during testing. Maintenance and upgrade of the said environment.

As part of the integration and qualification, this person will be responsible for executing test suites, analyzing the results, reporting findings and documenting resolution for any defect.

You will:

  • Have an opportunity to develop scripting tools that will assist the group in its testing through the automation of some of the testing tools.
  • The ability to troubleshoot software/hardware issues and execute test procedures with high-quality criteria.
  • Creating and maintaining working documents such as updating lab documents and test procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Some knowledge of basic storage technologies and properties. Some datacenter/lab operations experience
  • Some system administration experience related to Microsoft Windows, VMware ESX/ESXi, Linux (RHEL/SUSE).
  • Working experience with various protocols (TCP/IP, FC, iSCSI, FCoE) is desired.
  • Familiarity with Host to SAN connectivity concept (SAN switches, zoning, LUN masking) is desired.
  • Scripting knowledge ( PowerShell , Shell or Python )

Desirable Requirements

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware , Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix) i.e. VCP or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Storage Products/technologies (VPLEX, PowerStore, etc) Dell Proven Professional certification or Equivalent
