This Program Manager will be part of the Strategy, Portfolio, Business Development team within the Biosciences Division. This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to commercialize new products of high quality and value to the organization, within the committed project metrics of schedule, resources, budget, and scope. They will ensure that product development teams follow Thermo Fisher Scientific’s stage-gate Product Commercialization Process (PCP) and other best practices and standards, as well as provide global colleagues with project status updates and reports as needed.

Scope

  • Manage new product development projects passionate about life sciences research, including antibodies for immune-based assays (e.g., western blotting, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, etc.).
  • Act as the “general manager” of the project to execute all project deliverables and present project status updates to the Product Approval Committee
  • Responsible for all day-to-day operational aspects of projects, applying best practices and standards of project management to deliver on commitments. This includes, but is not limited to, project initiation, activity and resource planning, risk analysis and mitigation, stakeholder management, and project documentation.
  • Provide clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, to all levels of the project team and sponsors, adapting style to accommodate a diversity of audiences and situations. Get along with global colleagues and functional groups.
  • Impact business performance and operational efficiency through the delivery of results, as well as continuous improvement.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences field or business administration from a four-year college or university.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in managing projects of varying size and complexity through a waterfall stage-gate process or up to 2 years of combined product development and project management experience.
  • Proficient in English.

Skills and Attributes Preferred, but not Required:

  • Experience with cell biology, immunology, or protein chemistry.
  • Experience with Microsoft tools, including MS Project and Teams, and other collaboration applications.
  • PMP certification.
