Job Role and Responsibility
VMware Engineering Services business unit is seeking core engineering talent to join the Ecosystem Engineering R&D team. We build the next generation capabilities for modern days cloud services consumed by VMware Partners Ecosystem. We’re a team of smart engineers with an R&D mindset who architect, design, and build state of the art cloud services to solve real world hybrid cloud datacenter problems. As a part of the Ecosystem Engineering team working on cloud services, you’ll get a unique opportunity to learn, understand, and integrate with rest of the VMware product portfolio. - Design, develop, and own high performing microservices for hybrid clouds
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security
- Participate in architectural decisions, design and code reviews.
- Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of the domain
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional distributed teams Engineering, scale, performance in all phases – Requirements, Development, Testing, Launch/Release
- Execute with best practices for design, development and documentation while delivering the code to production
- Work in an Agile development environment while continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes with high velocity developer mindset
Required Skills
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications…
- BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on frontend development
- Excellent core Java coding skills and at least one scripting language
- Strong knowledge in Object Oriented Programming concepts and design patterns.
- Proficient knowledge and experience in JavaScript, TypeScript and Angular (or any popular JS framework/library like React, Vue etc).
- Experience in debugging, profiling, benchmarking, performance & security testing.
- Industry experience in software engineering with a good understanding of the SDLC
- Proven analytical, debugging, and problem solving skills
- Experience building scalable microservices, cloud services operations, and building SaaS services
- Software Development background in cloud computing
- You have experience in technologies such as Spring-boot as well as databases such as Postgres or No-SQL DBs, including writing SQL, stored procedures, etc.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work in in a fast-paced multi-teamed agile development environment.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to design and architecture
- Good understanding of distributed systems and application development
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices
