Job Description : Lab Support Senior Engineer – Automation Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24×7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. Independent and flexible, team members are always ready to adapt to the changing daily priorities. They make an impact in all kinds of ways – from installing and maintaining servers and storage equipment within the fast-paced lab computing environment, through to providing top-level technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users. What you’ll achieve Support a global repository of VMware and Bare-metal OS templates that support Lab Security Standards. Works with engineering departments to develop successful measurements to establish metrics. Ability to proactively monitor applications and data center environments for networking events and actions. Demonstrates a high degree of self-initiative. Performs other duties as required. You will: Development of business logic workflows & scripts for a global content repository using PowerShell, python and other tools/technologies/languages to automate current manual validation processes. Build CI/CD Pipelines in Jenkins leveraging existing system APIs to deploy standardized secure Server/VM Templates to the content repository. Knowledge in creation of microservices or any of the following: python, PowerShell in production and technical expertise in virtualization to include VMware suite/applications. Strong knowledge of system management and patching systems and knowledge of antivirus and appropriate networks, products and protocols (Cisco and Dell Technologies, routing protocols). Support development of unit, functional and integration test plans develop required documentation, including in-code documentation, how-to & knowledgebase articles as necessary and work with IEO Operations Center teams, where required, to resolve internal customer issues with required urgency. Here’s what we are looking for with this role: Essential Requirements University Degree with a major in Computer Science, or equivalent, is required. Microsoft and/or Linux OS installation/configuration/administration experience. Knowledge and experience of VMware as well as experience in PowerShell, Python and/or other scripting tools and languages. Experience leveraging API’s to integrate multiple subsystems and components across distributed architectures/systems. Experience with some Automation tools for devops (e.g Git/Jenkins/Jira/Artifactory/Ansible/ELK) or Equivalents. Experience building CI/CD pipelines. Experience contributing to Code Repositories and Git Workflows. Experience of IP networking – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Firewalls, CIFS, NFS etc. Desirable Requirements Knowledge about cloud systems, virtualization, remote systems access. Understanding of Agile methodology principles and Feature-Driven Development.
