Your essential responsibilities include: Develops the architectural requirements engineering, designs, concept definition and development of embedded application, wireless and field bus oriented protocols firmware for electrical controls and automation products VFDs, Motor Protection Relays, Reduced Voltage Soft Starters. Creates automation for the unit / whitebox / pre-conformance testing for the firmware developed, feature enhancement & resolution of the issues reported by validation team, spotted at customer site by providing the product line support. Develop re-usable components and looks for continuous improvement opportunities in Electrical industrial control products. Share knowledge within the team and demonstrate flexibility working in parallel on multiple products. Create technology and product concepts and articulate product and firmware Architecture. Ensure quality of delivery in accordance with the plan adhering to the standard practices used in agile/waterfall model. Perform code reviews with team members for modules/tasks and ensuring that best practices and efficient coding standards are adhered to. Ensures compliance with Agile Scrum process and agile ceremonies/work products, Management standards and guidelines Required: 14+ years of hands-on expertise in C, C++, RTOS based firmware applications on microcontrollers. 10+ Experience in development of industrial fieldbus communication protocols like Bluetooth, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Embedded Webserver and EtherCAT. Hands-on experience in developing application firmware for user interfaces & writing Unit Tests. Experience in working in Agile Team & usage of tools like JIRA, BitBucket, JAMA. Hands-on experience on developing test automations will be added advantage. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with respect to written and oral communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts. Sound Knowledge and experience with process frameworks (e.g. CMMI) including requirements management, defect tracking, build management, change management, and configuration management tools Experience collaborating with local / global suppliers for Hardware/Software procurement, building test lab setups etc. Desired: .Experience in FreeRTOS platform, Cyber-security requirements finalization and development. .Design for Six Sigma Certified. . Model based design, controls algorithms. . Understanding of OPC-UA, MQTT, PROFINET, STM32, NETX90 ASIC Platform. At Eaton India Innovation Center, Electrical Sector Americas is looking for Technology specialist to join our Controls & Protection Division! This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune. This position is for leading specific technical domain on ‘Industrial Controls Products’ a $300M product line under the $1.2B Controls & Protection Division of Electrical Sector Americas. . Responsible for Firmware architectural concept definition, design, development for Industrial Controls products. This includes, contribution in product development by understanding product requirements, design & develop feature enhancements and implementation protocol features like Wireless, Bluetooth, EtherCAT, Ethernet based protocols, using technologies like C, C++ by using a Real time operating system on microcontroller platforms . Manage program requirements, convert them into executable tasks and guide the team to develop connectivity firmware. . Lead system engineering, reviewing the firmware content, oversee validation & Verification of outcome and lead certification with external labs . Coach, guide and develop the next line of lead engineers . Work with Product engineering director & chief engineer to formulate & execute MGPP and MGTP in sync with growth goals for ICD and product roadmapping . Shape Focus area and build portfolio that matters. Define clear road map for next 3 – 5 years and execute action items to mitigate identified gaps. Leverage EIIC ecosystem for validation to accelerate time to market. . Propose idea & projects aligned with digitalization strategy for various products considering competitor landscape working closely with Electrical Sector COE’s and Digital organization. . Represent Eaton in various external technical forum and lead internal technical special interest group on firmware As a successful incumbent you will have had significant prior technical experience (Embedded C, C++), would need to connect with team on technical aspects with excellent foundation on embedded systems & comm protocols. You should have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and tasks while adapting quickly to changing priorities. You should be thriving in a growth-oriented organization Qualifications Minimum education for this position is a Bachelors in Electrical / Electronics/Controls Minimum 14 years of experience in Industrial Control Products domain. C, C++, RTOS, Industrial Fieldbus Communication Protocols Bluetooth, Modbus, BACnet, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS.
