The New Product Engineering team within Data and Services is engineering the transformation of new ideas into software solutions to test in the market, and then growing and scaling products to meet long-term demand and needs. Our solutions are instrumental in positioning Mastercard as a data & services market leader. As part of our team, you will bring your technology and leadership skills to design, build, test, deploy, and scale transformational new platforms for customers, including issuers, merchants, and governments, by leveraging large data sets, and providing actionable insights. We are looking for an innovative software engineering director who will lead multiple teams responsible for the design and build of a full stack web application and thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment. This individual will partner closely with other areas of the business to build a solution that drives value for our customers and be a leader in growing the New Product Engineering team in Pune. Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing features. The range of work you encounter varies from building intuitive, responsive UIs to designing backend data models, and beyond. There are no rigid organizational structures, and each team uses processes that work best for its members and projects. We are currently working on two new products in this space, and will start new efforts in the future. Commercial Payments Intelligence Center (CPIC): CPIC is a business intelligence solution that will enable commercial banks to identify key growth opportunities for commercial portfolios, highlight risks, and visualize their business Integrated Product Platform (IPP): IPP is a product that integrates data and insights products across the Data & Services portfolio into a single customer experience, to streamline and simplify the process of turning an insight into action, and enabling organizations to better analyze and understand outcomes across their business with data and insights integrated across solutions. Join a fast growing team! Position Responsibilities: At Mastercard D&S, you will build revolutionary products that advance how businesses all over the world seize the most value from their data. As a Director, Software Engineering, you will: Lead the New Product Engineering team in Pune including recruiting, mentoring, team-building, and technology leadership Manage, coach, and develop engineering managers leading cross-functional engineering teams Drive technology and product strategy for applications, architectures, and software development processes Architect, build, and deploy new, complex technical products across multiple engineering teams Collaborate closely with product development on the product and technology roadmaps for complex efforts Identify and mitigate technology risks in collaboration with leaders across the organization Build a culture of experimentation, innovation, and technical exploration Set and achieve aggressive goals to raise the bar on high achieving teams Navigate and collaborate across teams and business units to solve complex problems Instill an agile mindset across teams and equip teams to pivot fast and often as new information surfaces Coordinate with senior stakeholders across business units to inform technology and product decisions Collaborate with other leaders of D&S Technology in Pune to build relationships and culture across teams Identify short term and long-term engineering needs to scale platform solutions to meet customer demand Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Full stack engineering experience in an agile production environment Managing one or more engineering teams and coaching and mentoring emerging leaders Experience leading the architecture, design, implementation, and release of complex products and applications that spans across multiple engineering teams Proficiency with .NET/C#, React, Redux, Typescript, and SQL Server or other object-oriented languages, front-end frameworks, and/or relational database technologies Strong technologist with proven track record of learning new technologies and frameworks Relentless focus on and track record of delivering value for customers Strong analytical / quantitative problem solving skills Experience identifying and implementing improvements to organizational structure and processes to empower teams to own and deliver on their mission Experience leading projects and teams across roles and geographies Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and desire to thrive as a leader in a fast-paced organization Superior academic record with a degree in Computer Science or related technical field Strong written and verbal English communication skills Mastercard is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion.
