DECISION ANALYTICS CONSULTANT: Decision Analytics Consultants serve on project teams that deliver high-quality projects to clients. In particular, Consultants combine best-in-class analytic skills with strong problem-solving and communication abilities to lead analytical work to help clients solve strategic, tactical, and operational business problems. Consultants may work on multiple projects simultaneously. As Consultants advance in their career, they often specialize in a particular industry, practice area and/or client relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with project leadership to define project scope and develop approach;
  • Collaborate with clients and ZS teams to understand and frame scientific questions and translate into insights and analyses;
  • Leverage extensive knowledge of systems, process flows and procedures to aid analyses and recommendations for solution offerings;
  • Have good understanding and knowledge around drug discovery, pre-clinical studies, animal models, clinical trials;
  • Apply machine learning and advanced data science methods and approaches to scientific analyses and bioinformatics projects;
  • Assist in building tools and platforms that become a source of sustained competitive advantage for ZS in conducting scientific consulting and research studies for our clients;
  • Provide subject matter expertise to teams building research platforms and research data lakes;
  • Publish research papers and present at scientific conferences based on work performed;
  • Lead project teams in design and execution of analyses to test hypotheses and improve client scientific effectiveness
  • Lead project task execution by ensuring progress, organizing project data and coordinating team meetings
  • Conduct issue analysis and develop hypotheses on the key client issues
  • Synthesize findings, develop recommendations and communicate results to clients and internal teams
  • Provide thought leadership and innovation within projects and practice areas
  • Participate in business development
  • Contribute to internal firm activities
  • Coach and mentor junior team members

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree or PhD or master’s degree in science, bioinformatics, computational genomics, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, systems biology, immunology, or related discipline, and strong academic performance with analytic and quantitative coursework is required;
  • Have good understanding about different data domains like OMICS (genomics proteomics), translational, clinical trials, real world data, medical devices data, digital pathology;
  • Expertise in research and translational data standards, medical terminologies and controlled vocabularies (e.g. ICD, NDC, SNOMED, MedDRA, LOINC, CPT, CDISC, OMICS, DICOM) used in healthcare data and ontologies;
  • Knowledge in data science, statistical methods and approaches within research applications;
  • Understanding of tools and platforms needed to analyze “omics”, lab instrument data like flow cytometry, mass spectrometry and translational data;
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, with evidence of strong analytic work (including use of advanced modeling techniques and tools such as R, SAS, Tableau, or VBA
  • High motivation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative;
  • Aptitude for, and enjoyment of, leading and managing teams
  • Strong oral and written communication skills that enable personal impact with senior-level decision makers • Strong attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset
  • Analytic problem-solving skills, with a creative and innovative outlook
  • Client service orientation

ZS is a global consulting firm. Fluency in English is required; additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable.
