Introduction:

CB&P CDO provides strategic and Subject Matter Expert (SME) direction and governance regarding the delivery of Processes, Technology, Operations and Programme Management for the Consumer Banking and Payments functional groups. The role is for a member with a combination of Data Governance, Tech liaison and team lead responsibilities to support the CB&P Chief Data Office Team with the implementation of Group Data Management Policies and Standards and lead the Data Quality Governance aspects for CB&P CDO.

What will you be doing?

Data Governance (Data Quality)

  • Work and lead multiple GDMS standards across CB&P, including manage and execution of implementation plan, drive process improvements around data governance, data quality, data lineage, data issues etc.
  • Develop data management solutions and hands-on around the Data Quality program and establish a rhythm for data profiling. Provide logical and technical recommendations and best practices for Data Quality program, including data profiling, business and technical rules writing and validation.
  • Accountable for the setup and implementation of the Data Issue Management Framework, Data Quality Framework, and the Data Quality Measurement Reporting
  • Drive adoption and ensure optimal usage of the Data Issue Register across CB&P
  • Review the remediation plans for a group of or individual Data Issues within CB&P
  • Provide guidance to CDO teams to set up a consistent and mature governance process to store and refine metadata and data quality across their business lines for wider business consumption
  • Maintain detailed delivery plan with defined milestones across the data standards and dependencies across in-scope projects and initiatives (e.g. BICEP, SIP, BCBS239 etc)
  • Generate ideas to enhance data quality tools benefiting CDO & Domain stakeholders
  • Ensure sufficient controls and oversight in place across CB&P CDO activities

What we’re looking for:

Education

  • B.E/B.Tech/MCA in computer science or related scientific disciplines.
  • Management degree preferred but not essential
  • Relevant work experience in some or all of the skills below

Technical skills

  • Strong Business Domain expertise across Banking and Financial Services (including at least one of Private, Corporate and Investment Banking or Cards and Payments)
  • Hands-on experience in managing concurrent deliverables with the ability to identify risk and escalate issues as needed
  • Experience in co-ordination across multiple functional teams
  • Experience in Data Governance and Management practices
  • Understanding of Operational Risk, Audit & Regulatory Commitment management process
  • Effective problem solver, organized. Team player
  • Creative Thinker in Technology Tooling and applications
  • Good Communication and Presentation skills
  • Good working knowledge about work flows using ETL tools with data migration, Data optimization, Data warehousing
  • Good working knowledge in AWS services (i.e. MariaDB, Redshift)
  • Good with Data base management and Data warehousing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple data management standards
  • Industry experience in building and operationalizing various Data Management and/or Governance solutions in banking and finance domain would be an added advantage

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and convert abstract ideas into actionable requirements
