Role description: ANS is generally responsible for supervising nurses and nurse managers, facilitating the design and implementing the delivery of patient care, recommending strategies to improve services, reaching established goals, maintaining satisfactory outcomes and contributing to profitability. Job Responsibilities: Quality of Service . Ensuring quality of nursing service delivered is equivalent to the set standards. . Laying down various nursing procedures and protocols for different diseases and problems so as to ensure smooth functioning of the department. . Personally, inspect all unit areas to ensure, that the nursing staff confirms to the departmental protocols. . Liaisoning with other departments like Medical, Biomedical, Materials, Operations etc to ensure smooth working of department. . Establishing accountability for the equipment and materials used by the nursing staff. . Coordinating with ANS in identifying training needs, planning and conducting training programs for the nurses. . Consulting the Ward In charge/ Supervisor on specific nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies. . Providing feedback to the top management on all incidents pertaining to patient care & nursing service on a regular basis. . Preparing, upgrading & streamlining process guidelines in all the areas of nursing which need improvement. . Participate in the quality improvement activities including projects taken up by the organization Nursing Manpower Management: . Plan for nursing manpower of all units as per the norms. . Create a nursing manpower budget with collaboration of CEO of the hospital. . Select & recruit nurses in various categories as per the competency level. . Ensure appropriate deployment & replacement of nursing staff in time to time. . Ensure proper allocation of nursing staff as per the defined nurse -patient ratios in all clinical areas. Oversee nursing processes for scope of minimizing manpower cost by utilizing at least 30% student nurses in the clinical setting. Training & Development . Acting as an in charge of all nursing related trainings. . Coordinating with HR in arranging for Induction programs for new nurses. . Ensure that appropriate induction training is provided to all new nurses to comply with service requirement. . Ensure that core competency assessments are carried out periodically as per the norms . Supports in all training initiatives like CNE programs, BLS, ACLS, Soft skills, etc. . Conduct & attend the departmental & interdepartmental meetings / conferences in time to time.
