What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Information Technology team?

  • The Information Security Engineer should be experienced in system architecture, design, engineering and deploying data security applications over hybrid environments that include on-premise and public clouds, such as GCP.
  • The candidate should be comfortable in playing a lead role towards the evolution of technology deployments across the global footprint.
  • An ideal candidate should be proficient in leading the engineering of endpoint solutions over Windows, Mac and Linux endpoints and on Virtual infrastructure.

You are a function expert –

This position is for an Individual contributor who would be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and build systems capable of monitoring security controls, policies and procedures and critical cyber security activities.
  • Responsible for the design, deployment, and configuration of security solutions that enable enterprise security controls.
  • Be technically proficient with vendor tools and collaborate with the vendor to identify and resolve gaps in the solutions/platform technologies.
  • Act as a technology subject matter expert, able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across different audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and external vendors.
  • Partner/connect with collaborators and other Global Information Technology and business functions to ensure their areas are following Global Information Security’s technical guidelines and strategy.
  • Provide engineering support to the Security Operations Center for solving complex problems.
  • Responsible for developing Security use cases for SIEM
  • Provide engineering support for other security tools in the organization such as WAF, NAC, EDR, etc..

Work with Operation team to build queries as per the use cases Work with Other teams to onboard logs on Splunk

What you’ll need…(Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 7 years of consistent track record in IT security industry
  • 3+ years of experience with Splunk administration or management.
  • Knowledge of Splunk Cloud deployments, installing and maintaining Heavy Forwarders on Linux
  • Onboard new data sources (Syslog, HEC, APIs, Splunk apps) and building use cases.
  • Installing, upgrading and maintaining Splunk Apps
  • Creating and managing Splunk Security Use cases
  • Creating and managing Splunk Knowledge Objects (data models, lookups, field extractions, reports, alerts)
  • Knowledge and use of SPL (search development and best practices)
  • Good understanding of Splunk Enterprise Security
  • Assets and Identities
  • Getting data sources CIM compliant
  • Correlation search development
  • Modern networking knowledge and understanding (OSI, TCP/IP, switching, routing, firewalling, NAT, proxies, IDS/IPS, WAF’s, CDN’s, SSL/TLS, etc…)
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity technology, architecture and best standards practice
  • Scripting skills in one of the following languages is a plus: Python, Bash, Powershell
  • Experience with Firewalls, WAF, SOAR, IDSIPS, would be good to have
  • Knowledge or Experience with AWS or GCP cloud services preferred

  • Splunk Core Certified User
  • Splunk Cloud Certified Admin
  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect
  • Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin

Key Proficiencies:

  • The successful candidate must have a strong IT background with in-depth knowledge of corporate application access control, network routing and cyber threat analysis.
  • Solid understanding of application architecture and strong security fundamentals.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate and interact effectively with users that do not have a security background and be a security spokesperson throughout the organization
