This position is for Beckman Coulter team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 700+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Digital Teams, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet, SCIEX, IDBS, Laetus and Cepheid. The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists. The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility. The Software Development Team is seeking a Software Manager to support our Business Unit Systems, Software and Automation in the area of Clinical Lab Automation. In this role you will report to the Senior Manager Software Clinical Lab Automation who is in Munich, Germany and be an active part of the DxA-Software Development Management Team. You will be the main bridge-person for your team located in Bangalore, India to the DxA Software Development Team located in Munich, Germany. Your team will closely collaborate with the DxA Software development Team in Munich, Germany with the ICE Development Team in Bangalore, India and with the DxA Verification Team in IDC, Bangalore, India. Key Accountabilities Lead and support your team as a people leader but can also support with your technical expertise. Your team of up to 15 direct reports ensures product success by translating high-level requirements which are created by System Engineers and Architects into actionable SW Designs and Requirement Specifications. Your team ensures Implementation and Testing of the requested functionality. Since Quality is of utmost importance to Beckman Coulter, you foster the respective ‘code of conduct for developers’ and lead your team to highest quality standards. Ensure compliance to all appropriate Quality Management Systems and company policies and procedures. You coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels. You will be responsible for managing the skill-level of your team and aspire to lead it to very high-level expertise. Provide overall people-care management for direct reports, including, hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development. Enable technology and process innovation in team. Engage with stakeholders at other Beckman Coulter sites, technical leaders, and executives to communicate projects status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making. Identify and drive countermeasures in instances when project is overdue or exceeding budget. Actively keeps abreast of emerging trends and technology changes. Acts as an advisor to BU and site management on key strategy and execution decisions. Collaborate with a global ecosystem of peers and partners in meeting objectives. Actively involves and participates in IDC local initiatives. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology with 15 plus years of relevant experience or a master’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience. Work experience should include 3+ years of people management and 3+ years of experience in Agile software development. Good understanding of C# and .Net Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring. At least some years’ experience of working in medical device development, need to be familiarized with standards such as ISO13845 and ISO62304 Advanced leadership skills including coaching, team building, conflict resolution, and management. Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting. Fast learner able to quickly become adept at using the Danaher Business System tool set. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage team by influence in a matrix organization. Readily accepts responsibility and accountability for project success and key decisions.
