Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) applies software engineering techniques and discipline to production operations to attack reliability and performance issues to fix them for good.
Sabre Intelligence Exchange (IX) is a flexible, scalable IT platform designed to give our customers a real-time, comprehensive view of siloed data that spans multiple airline systems. SRE is still young at the Sabre IntelExchange team, and members of this team will have a chance to influence the direction of a critical and global SRE organization. IX team is looking for data-driven operational experts who can help the BU improve SRE principles as part of their business. There will be ample opportunities for growth in many areas of technology, leadership, mentorship, design, and more. IX gathers, analyzes, and acts on disparate data that traverses PSS and core and non-core IT systems. Bringing all this data together in a single location empowers our customers with tools to analyze, derive insights, and take timely, intelligent actions even back into the Passenger Service System (PSS) itself, resulting in unbridled business agility that places our airline customers ahead of the competition.
Key Responsibilities
Provides operational oversight to the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
Creates sustainable systems and services to manage platform infrastructure and applications through automation.
Improves reliability, quality, and time-to-market of Sabre suite of software solutions
Measures and optimize system performance to push our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovate for continuous improvement
Partners with development teams to to make sure to build devops-friendly Architecture systems & improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
Balances feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
The business or the product must establish what the availability target is for the system & Error budget.(SLIs & SLOs)
Builds systems that will tolerate failure- in terms of graceful degradation and defense in depth & Production Readiness Review (PRR). Reduce the Toil & Focus on Critical User journey.
Enable large-scale systems while controlling risk. Create operational cost savings by automation and policies.

Job Requirements
Experience programming in one of the following languages: Java/.Net, Go, Perl, Python
Proficiency in algorithms, data structures
Practical knowledge about internet protocols (TCP/HTTP/SOAP/REST/gRPC)
Experience in designing, writing, and/or troubleshooting software and systems in a distributed, internet-scale Linux environment
Experience with Cloud solutions (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
Experience with technologies used in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Cloud Formation, Terraform, Ansible), Experience with CI/CD process
Work under minimum supervision with few direct instructions
Design, build, maintain and utilize automation tools to reduce manual and repetitive tasks
Diagnose, and take corrective actions to improve stability and performance of systems running in the production environment
Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more industry de-facto languages, such as Python, Java, Ruby, and JavaScript
Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3 as well as dynamic resource management frameworks (Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn)
A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
Experience in deploying, maintaining, and monitoring applications on Linux or Windows systems
Experience with application and system monitoring tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, SolarWinds, Prometheus)
Strong attitude towards teamwork, knowledge sharing, and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
BS/BE degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, other highly technical, scientific discipline
Coding experience beyond simple scripts
