Water Innovation Lab Scientist (Grade 16)

Key: Solid background in Industrial water research, key water technologies and innovative process development.

Critical Responsibilities

  • Lead program execution in water innovation lab through hands-on experimentation using state-of-the-art instruments/ methods
  • Develop and exercise the culture of innovation through experimentation in water treatment.
  • Conduct literature and prior art search to stay abreast with current technology trends
  • Design experiments aligned with research goals, perform testing and analyze data and provide interpretations and conclusions
  • Execute technical programs in a time-bound manner and be accountable for program execution timelines.
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and environmental health & safety in the lab operations.
  • Execute installation, calibration, maintenance of analytical instruments and
  • Adhere to Baxter Quality Management Systems and Maintain quality records as per ISO 13485 guidelines
  • Conduct foundational and applied research strategies to achieve the technical vision for a new or improved product/process/method or to prove a new theory, applying a solid understanding of theories/practices including those from other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise. Reach conclusions based on research analysis/incorporate recommendations into larger projects.
  • Develop IP in new and existing subject area of development.

Qualifications

  • Research/ analytical experience in at least 2 technical areas in water treatment such as Membrane filtration, Electro-chemistry-based water treatment, Chemical based water treatment, and Distillation based water purification, Desalination techniques.
  • Demonstrated skills in innovations. Prior experience to develop water treatment process, trouble shooting and prototyping.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in working with relevant analytical instruments including quality, safety and compliance aspects
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a team environment to meet goals/objectives, while successfully working independently as required.
  • Excellent communications and inter-personal skills, successfully interacting with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Flexibility to comfortably/confidently manage/ work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in chemical engineering, Chemical Technology, Environmental Engineering, Masters in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, PhD. in relevant disciplines with research experience in water processing will also be considered
  • Research experience in corporate/ commercial water lab for ~3 years is highly desired.
