The ‘Technical Writer’ is one such opportunity that requires your ability to skillfully understand and communicate the technical aspects to both highly technical and non-technical users. You act as a translator, providing users with the information that will resonate best with them based on their background.
The Requirement
As a Technical Writer, you are expected to create documentation and education materials to boost user experience on the Engagedly platform. Such documentation may come in the form of user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, in-platform instructions, installation/configuration instructions, and system operations.
- Research, outline, write and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
- Independently gather information to develop, organize and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
- Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage.
- Research, create and maintain information architecture templates that uphold organizational and legal standards and allow easy data migration.
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation

Essential Requirements for This Role
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- 2-6 years industry experience as an effective technical writer.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
- Previous experience writing help documentation, user guides and procedural materials for
- multiple audiences.
- Previous experience in developing walkthrough training.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience working with engineering to improve the user experience: design, UI, and help
- refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for prioritization.
- Firm understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC).
- Certification through the Society for Technical Communicators.
- Experience using XML tools to create documentation.
The role mentioned above is required to support our clients in North America and hence the suggested work timings, though slightly flexible would-be IST 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
