Affairs roles based in Gurugram (NEW DELHI) Public Policy Initiatives (35% of time). Develop and author position papers and advocacy documents to support advocacy goals in India, drawing from both existing resources and by conducting original research help align policy position across key functions (business, finance, legal, PR) play a role in developing AMD’s position on emerging issues where no firm view exists and ensure consistency in position across the AMD business on core policy issues. Strategic Projects – Flexible (35% of time). Support the team on key strategic long-term, high-impact strategic projects. This may encompass, for instance, exploring partnership opportunities with public or private sector leaders for business, talent or other pertinent issues providing tactical support with the Headquarter teams on opportunities in strategic initiatives and collaborating with India site leaders and colleagues for cohesive implementation and communication (verbal, written and digital) of AMD’s Environmental, Social and Governance Goals (ESG) in the areas of corporate social responsibility and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Help Manage a Network of Stakeholders (25% of time). Deepen company’s network with key allies, industry associations, think tanks and other stakeholders that have a definite role to play in shaping strategic policy mandates and create and implement an engagement plan with each of them. The objective of such partnership should be the development of curated external position papers, seminars or public opportunities which will lead to the advancement of the company’s policy positions. Database Management (5% of time). Manage and have an outreach to a database of government contacts and all contracts and billing. This role is based in Gurugram and reports to the head of public policy for India and the company’s Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region. The candidate must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, be inquisitive and willing to learn about semiconductor technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound, ethical judgment even in ambiguous situations, while being creative in orchestrating solutions for problems across businesses as well as drive strong relationships within the government and stakeholders (internal and external) alike. The candidate must have prior experience of supporting various teams and business leaders. This role requires the candidate to work across several business functions ranging from Technology & Engineering, Human Resources, Finance and Business Development teams. REQUIREMENTS : Exceptional research skills, including ability to find new sources of information (e.g., data points) to support policy positions (past publications are a plus). Strong analytical skills, including ability to deep-dive into regulations by understanding how legislative and regulatory proposals may impact AMDs business and talent interests in India. Experience in examining draft policy or regulations circulated by various governments and the ability to identify impact to AMD in policy documents and propose solutions. Problem solving approach: A keen eye for spotting potential blind-spots and solutions on how to avoid them or overcome roadblocks which are encountered. Ability to operate independently without constant monitoring or micro-management while maintaining reporting requirements and communication channels. Must be self-driven. Exceptional writing skills, including ability to synthe policy documents and complex issues for internal and external customers and ability to convince through writing Comfortable working in ambiguous environments self-starter that can use good judgment and resourcefulness to take action in the absence of clear guidance. Strong attention to detail for all administrative functions Exceptional time-management skills including ability to prioritize and manage competing demands on your time Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a relevant discipline (Law, Political Science, Public Policy, etc.) Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships and networks with others. Fluent written and spoken English is necessary, along with Hindi, while additional official Indian languages would be an asset PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience developing position papers and formal submissions for government agencies Basic knowledge of semi-conductor related issues, including cyber security, data protection, fair and open competition, workforce development, etc. Previous role in a public policy or related team so as to bring best practices in team management and coordination to our function Advanced degree is preferred Proven ability to work in teams, especially coordinating across functions #LI-GM1
