About our group: This engineering position at either our Longmont, CO facility or our Shakopee, MN facility is heavily focused on you working as a member of the Servo Engineering Department. Our charter is new Product Development and advancing the state of the art of world class servo systems. Engineering disciplines include Embedded Systems, Firmware, Analog and Digital Electronics, DSP, Integration of mechanics, electronics and firmware, servo calibration algorithms and servo technology feature development. About the role – you will: Develop and deploy advanced embedded control system technologies to meet the high-density tracking, performance, and reliability requirements of enterprise hard disk drive systems. Develop and maintain servo firmware that drives innovation and engineering efficiency for the organization and for the company. Develop real-time embedded firmware and electronics for realization of advanced high complexity controls systems. Specify, integrate and validate electronic and electrical systems to enable realization of the control system requirements About you: General understanding and enjoyment of digital and analog circuits, digital control systems concepts, C firmware, Python and Matlab software Strong communication and technical leadership skills as you will be working with various teams and team members Find problem solving and inventing solutions enjoyable and rewarding. Willingness and ability to support after hour calls as part of a global team on occasion Your experience includes: Some foundational coursework in development, testing and integration of algorithms for position feedback tracking control, vibration compensation, motor control, servo pattern demodulation, digital signal processing and seek waveform generation. Some exposure in developing and maintaining processes for design and validation of embedded control systems. Software programming skills – C, Matlab, Python Previously completed projects in real-time embedded firmware design Experience in Digital Control Systems concepts Accomplished lab skills, including the operation of oscilloscopes, trace tools, data collection tools and data analysis techniques. Bachelors degree in Electrical / Computer Science / Mechanical / Physics / Aerospace engineering and 3 years experience, Masters Degree in same and 0 years of exerience or equivalent education and experience.n You might also have: Machine learning experience or interests Similar experiences in the technology industry. Location: Longmont, CO or Shakopee, MN Colorado’s 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated base salary range for this position is: $70,700.00 to $101,200.00. Actual salary range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
