In this role, you have the opportunity to make life better to setup and Manage the Reliability and Compliance Lab for Ultrasound Business. Reliability infrastructure shall comprise of various high load machines like Vibration machine, Treadmill, N2 cooled Climatic chambers etc. Compliance lab shall be equipped sufficiently and approved by CSA. You are also responsible for managing day-to-day lab activities by working closely with Rel. team, lab technicians, Facilities, and external suppliers.

You are responsible for

Establish and Manage Reliability and Safety Compliance Lab, its infrastructure in-line with Business need and EHS (Environment Health and Safety) norms.

Manages day-to-day lab activities by working closely with Engineers, lab technicians, Facilities and external suppliers.

Assure equipment calibration and maintenance is performed on time to support program commitments by interfacing with approved NABL Calibration agencies.

Monitors and controls the test environment configurations and

Keeps up to date with technical and organizational developments and takes part actively in contacts within other department within Philips or beyond.

Preparing for audits. Ensures that there is good co-operation with other disciplines and departments

Supports to complete New Product development and Life cycle management activities on time, with appropriate quality, and in compliance with relevant laboratory standards and regulations

Manages process & tooling/method development (improvement) projects

Generates, reviews and Maintain Lab quality records to support Q&R team

Enforces the safety practices and use of Personal Protective equipment’s regularly inside the Lab and report any Safety incidents / near misses to the Safety core team.

Communicates regularly to Manager and leads on Lab status, ongoing activities and any support required.

Performs work in line with the processes that have been agreed in the department.

Maintains product and company reputation by complying with country specific regulations.

Ordering of Miscellaneous parts & maintain MOQ.

Managing Lab stores & ware house stocks with identification of all the parts.

Maintain 6s in the Lab

Co-responsible for appropriate lab personnel management (recruitment, selection, career), both Philips as well as temporary employees

Prepares capital investment requests for the Lab Environment.

Provides the unit’s MT, departmental management and employees with solicited and unsolicited advice regarding matters relating to Health, Safety and Environment.

Represents the unit on the Health & Safety Control Board and Environmental Control Board.

Intervenes and if necessary halts activities or seals off rooms in the event of immediate danger to employees.

Systematically checks compliance with the HSE regulations and reports to the unit’s MT for the Ultrasound lab.

Investigates accidents, if necessary in collaboration with an HSE expert, and makes recommendations.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

BE/B.Tech with Electrical/Mechanical or equivalent with 10+ yrs of experience

Experience in establishing the new lab infrastructure. Medical domain lab experience is preferable

Ability to use technical knowledge to help members of the laboratory staff to troubleshoot problems.

Proficient PC skills and the ability to apply these tools to data analysis with high proficiency. E.g. Microsoft Excel, etc.

Ability to solve problems under conditions of uncertainty and ambiguity.

Knowledge of Design Control regulations, applicable lab safety standards, laboratory regulations and change control requirements.

Knowledge of Quality philosophies, methods, tools usage

Demonstrates advanced skills across multiple areas of specialization

Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently

Excellent communication skills
