KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This internship will provide the candidate the opportunity to understand a wide variety of tasks, and risk management approach within the Credit Division, including: An overview of how Macquarie validates credit models, manages counterparty exposures, conduct data analysis and maintains/enhances credit systems This will involve the first-hand chance to – Work closely with technology teams to assess and implement changes to be made to credit systems. Understand downstream impact of changes and prioritise deployments based on criticality and ease of implementation Monitor counterparty exposures, ensure that any excesses are investigated and resolved appropriately. Test and validate financial models used by business for forecasting thereby ensuring that risks assessed are correct. Ensure that limits and ratings for customers are recommended and approved by appropriate personnel and compliance with Macquarie policies and regulations Utilize tools like Alteryx, PowerBI to break down and deliver voluminous unstructured data into easily digestible reports and metrics Understand how Macquarie ensures completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery of critical credit data The candidate will also get a chance to understand other divisions within the Risk Management Group, and Business Divisions. Pre-MBA work experience is not mandatory, but if yes, then – Work experience in credit research/credit analysis/ratings domain and/or work experience in analysis of Financial Institutions (FIs) is an added advantage. Strong numerical and analytical skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills with focus on relationship building. Cross disciplinary thinking and an entrepreneurial spirit. About the Risk Management Group The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for ensuring all risk across Macquarie are appropriately assessed and managed.
