About our group: Join the Mechanical Design team developing the most advanced and innovative hard drives.The modern hard drive is a precision engineering marvel mass produced at enormous scale.We develop the mechanical technology, mature the technology into feasible designs, and scale designs into mass production. About the role – you will: . Support the mechanical engineering team by conducting standardized shock, vibration, and IO performance tests. . Document test results and support failure analysis investigations. . Maintain the lab in conformance with standard operating procedures. . Improve existing test procedures and develop new and innovative test methods. About you: . You enjoy hands-on work executing complicated tasks with precision and accuracy. . You have broad knowledge and problem-solving skills with respect to mechanical, electrical, computer networking, and programming. . You exhibit determination and stubborn perseverance to accomplish difficult tasks. . You collaborate and communicate well with your teammates. Your experience includes: . Related work experience in laboratory test environment, computer set-up and networking, or electrical/mechanical manufacturing experience. . Proficiency with standard office software such as Word and Excel . A Technology degree and 4+ years’ experience, Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as mechanical, electrical or computer science engineering, or similar education and experience. You might also have: . Knowledge of hard drive IO performance metrics and test methods . Python programing experience . Knowledge of Linux OS tools and utilities. Colorado’s 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires we inform you of the estimated base salary range for this position: $69,000 – $94,500. Actual salary range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
