The Role This role will be based in Hyderabad and will be joining one of our scrum teams in the UK. The team works on client solutions and products but increasingly will be involved in our technology transformation. This will involve building out shared capabilities in Java to replace a lot of existing functionality that is written in PLSQL. The team’s skillsets are primarily in PLSQL but we are looking to grow their experience in building enterprise level Java applications. As such we need a lead developer to help take the team on that journey and to contribute to our exciting transformation. We have an excellent company tech stack giving us the usage of a lot of enterprise technology, but at the same time we are not constrained. If it makes sense to use the latest and greatest, then we can and will Qualifications Qualifications Engineering Manager: 50% Technical (Hands on), 50% People Management. 1. Have atleast 2 years of exp. in managing team. 2. Technically strong with 10 Years of exp. in technology . May require a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another STEM subject Experience . Expertise in building enterprise grade Java application (Java 11+ and Spring framework) . Strong professional experience of design, development, testing and end to end ownership of production software 1. Technical Design, Code Review and guide them 2. Participate in Architecture discussions and produce options. 3. Improve the team’s velocity 4. Manage team of 4-10 resources, including their performance reviews , development and growth. . Experienced in mentoring others, leading design discussions and communicating complex ideas clearly . A good understanding of how to write clean, efficient, well tested code . A keenness to learn and to work in a highly collaborative environment . Strong communication and problem-solving skills . An appreciation that the simple solution to a problem – while often harder to discover than the complex one – is usually best Our Tech Stack . Java 11+, Spring . PLSQL Experience in any of these is advantageous: . Python, Javascript . Oracle, Postgres . Jenkins, Artifactory, Dynatrace, Maven, Docker, Sonarqube . Openshift, AWS . Apache Kafka, Kafka streams .
