Introduction:
This is a full-time position for a Logic board designer to support schematic design for the Logic/RF test development team. In this role the engineer will use Cadence Allegro to design tester instrumentation boards containing digital devices including microprocessors, FPGAs, digital driver chips, buffers and Ethernet interface circuits. The engineer will use the latest Cadence allegro signal integrity, power integrity and board level RF design tools. The engineer will participate in inventing and continuously improving our systems for testing mmWave semiconductors covering cell phone, satellite and automotive applications. You will work closely with FPGA logic designer, RF engineers and external component suppliers. You will work with a team of highly skilled engineers worldwide to develop state of the art test & measurement circuits.
Your Job:
Communicate with our logic & RF circuit test team to understand their product requirements.
Develop/modify the existing schematics to generate next generation instrumentation cards.
Obtain supplier data sheets and convert them into schematics for use design of a complete digital support system on a test measurement instrumentation card.
Design board schematics with Interface memory modules, high speed interconnect and power and controls connections.
Simulate the board level circuit at the schematic and final layout level within the cadence environment.
Able to stand and work in a test lab to drive board bringup and set-up the lab equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Education – BS, or MS in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
5+ years of experience in board designing schematic and simulation.
Working experience using Cadence Allegro, and the Cadence board level integrity tools
Hardware/System design, strong debug and lab experience is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrate the desire to tackle diverse challenges.
Language Fluency – English
Physical Capacity Demands – ability to use a computer
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Board level circuit simulation
Experience designing High speed GBit digital board level circuits
Hands on experience with electrical bench equipment; DMM’s, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzers, etc.
Working experience with FPGA board designing would be a big plus
