Job description: What You’ll Do

Cisco Systems has an open opportunity for an engineer capable of covering Cisco’s Software Defined and automation portfolios. The candidate should be innovative in mind and able to add value to guide the team time to time by proposing innovative solution that optimise the delivery process and brings better ROI across delivery project(s).

The candidate will support Cisco’s large SP customers. As such, there is an expectation that she/he will be able to work with customers to create and execute on customers IT transformation. From early engagement with the customer gathering requirements to solution delivery and execution of the solution would follow under the charter. The role requires stakeholders’ influence & management skills, deep technology insight, ability to collaborate among teams to drive Cisco and customer success.

Deliverables:

  • The engineer will be accountable for leading and/or driving Lifecycle solutions for Customer Experience delivery.
  • The engineer will typically be responsible for closely working with customer to understand their pain points, freezing requirements and develop/deploy required CI/CD automation solution built around standard CI/CD tools for Cisco software product/solution development and deployment.
  • The engineer will build these solutions following Cisco guidelines, best practices and well-defined processes to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • The engineer will be responsible for leading innovations around Lifecycle solutions with the delivery teams, and capture best practices to drive standardization across delivery. The engineer will be held accountable for innovation and standardization goals.
  • The engineer will provide internal and/or external technical presentations for collaboration within Cisco as well as with Customer.
  • The engineer will share his/her knowledge with other people in writing technical documents and enlarge the knowledge database across delivery teams. The engineer will strive to expand her/his technical excellence and expertise on newer/ cross-functional technical domains.
  • The engineer will escalate any specific problems to the Customer Experience (CX) leads or relevant Business Units for product enhancement.
  • The engineer will setup local lab environment to test and demonstrate automation solution.

Who You Are

  • Must to have skills
  • Extensive Development experience in Groovy/ Core Java / Python / Shell
  • Deep expertise on Docker, Docker compose & Kubernetes and associated OpenSource tooling and Cloud Native technologies with strong preference for background in Public Cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with Webservices development – REST API
  • Experience with Tomcat Apache
  • Hands-on development experience in building Jenkins Pipeline with Groovy is must
  • Deep experience with DevOps tools – CI/CD tools – GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, CircleCI, GitLab, BitBucket
  • Experience with RDBMS(MySQL/PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with Camunda will be an added advantage
  • Deep experience working in Unix / Linux environments
  • Experience with OpenStack or VMware cloud – VM creation and Cloud Networking/VLAN configuration knowledge will be an added advantage
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP & Networking concept
  • Software Installation on VMs
  • Strong troubleshooting/debugging & support skills
  • Should be able to provide quick turn around time for customer support issues.
  • Should be passionate and ready to learn and go beyond
  • Experience in all phases of software development lifecycle with good working exposure to agile development methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills, team player, service oriented

Minimum Qualification

  • B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.)/MS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/IT/Software Systems with 10-12 years of relevant experience
