Job description: What you will do

  • Work closely with multiple engineering teams around the world to grow a cross geo distributed team with deep technical knowledge of the core components of Red Hat OpenShift Pipelines or TektonCD and OpenShift
  • Focus on customer requirements and use cases to guide and supervise the efforts of the team to release product version and resolve defects, in close coordination with peers
  • Work with product management, partner engineering teams, and the support organization to develop technology roadmaps, then schedule and communicate these externally
  • Help peer managers understand the capabilities and capacity of your team and to jointly plan our ability to deliver future improvements
  • Work with cross-functional managers and teams across support, quality assurance, documentation, and other areas to create and deliver a high-quality service
  • Proactively identify important changes from the broader open source community and work to support implementing those changes via the team into the service
  • Work to recruit new associates to the growing Red Hat Build Service Engineering team

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 12+ years of significant software development or management experience
  • 3+ years of leading engineering teams or managing engineering teams and responsible for deliveries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiar with test-based development and agile or scrum methodologies
  • Experience working with customers or in customer situations
  • Experience in collaboration with product management and executing product vision
  • Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) concepts and experience with related technologies
  • Experience in building Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products

The following are considered a plus:

  • Understanding of open source development models
  • Prior participation in open source community software development or leadership
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CoreOS, Fedora, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, containers, and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, TektonCD, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Familiarity with enterprise application development
